Movie Reviews of ZeligMovie Review: Zelig teaches us all the value of individuality Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is hilarious and brilliantly done. For a while you even think it is a true story, even if you recognize the actors. The bottom line of this movie, though, is the message. When Zelig acts as a chameleon, when he blends in, he gets into trouble. It is only when he is himself that he finds true happiness and love. None of us should be afraid to be ourselves. Sometimes society makes us feel inadequate, but who cares what society thinks?
Movie Review: Where's Woody? Summary: 5 Stars
My collection is a bit more complete now! Along with Sleeper this is one of my Woody Allen favorites. Of course, of course Annie Hall is, well you understand.. but, Zelig is great too, and very different. This documentary style film is entirely engaging and chock full of wit. The footage, editing and effects just add to the great concept and flow of this masterpiece. PS (Where's "What's Up Tiger Lily" on DVD??)
Movie Review: The Inventive Woody Summary: 5 Stars
"Zelig" is presented in such a straight documentary format that you have to remind yourself this is not about an actual historical subject. Patrick Horgan so typifies the refined British narrator that he is able to incorporate some old gags with great ease.
Movie Review: Sumething from the funny Woody Summary: 5 Stars
When Woody Allen chooses to be funny, there are few who can top him. In "Zelig" he is a character who has the misfortune of becoming other people. The film is hilarious.
Movie Review: The Human Chameleon Summary: 5 Stars
Great movie especially if you enjoy other WA films. A pleasure to watch and very cleverly done, the usual WA irreverence and comical genius.
