Movie Reviews of Young@HeartMovie Review: "Young at Heart" - The New One! Summary: 5 Stars
Frank Sinatra once starred in a movie called "Young at Heart". This heartwarming movie with the same title is one of the best documentaries I have seen: homourous, sad, ultimately illiminating. A choral group of oldsters (72 and up) learn new tricks.Rock 'n Roll! One of their warmups for the big sold-out concert is filmed at a prison, where the hearts of inmates open to them and their music. So will yours.
Movie Review: Inspirational... Summary: 5 Stars
This is an inspiring film for people of all ages. Watching the transformative process as the director works with elderly singers, introducing them to unfamiliar music, and making them converts to the electricity that is produced in that process, is heartwarming in the extreme, without being saccharine in any way. It made me a convert to the possibilities of aging without becoming aged.
Movie Review: High Emotion Summary: 5 Stars
My father sang in the church choir until his death at age 89. This program recalls the memories of aged individuals continue to love the participation of special groups as the choir. Reflections and memories are created in this program and the strong emotions brings one to tears in more than one part of this program. Seasoned citizens set goals and examples for the young. Must watch.
Movie Review: Wow! Don't Miss This! Summary: 5 Stars
It took me months to get my husband to be willing to watch this, but when he did, he said it was one of his favorite films of all times. "Not at all what I thought it would be!", he said.
If you're planning to grow old, watch this. It's a great, funny, entertaining story of some real people who are living out old age still doing what they love to do. You won't be disappointed.
Movie Review: Now that I retired, I'm getting younger all the time! Summary: 5 Stars
The only one in the family who didn't enjoy this was Grandpa. He's 92 years old and would have rather been in front of Sunday afternoon football, golf, whatever. Coming out of the theater, we were all gushing on "how uplifting", "a real gem, I'm gonna buy the DVD the day it comes out". Granddad's only comment: "Why did you take me to a movie about a lot of old timers?"
