Movie Reviews of Yoga For Athletes

Movie Review: Prefect Supplement for My Running
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been running ever since I could remember and as I get older stretching only seems to help so much. I started taking yoga on the advice of a friend of mine about a year ago. This DVD was perfect and well addition to my library. What I loved the most was how specifically geared the programs are and the variety you can't beat anywhere else. There were many different programs for runners, tennis players, football, you nameit so it also works good for both male and female athletes. My husband started using the DVD and he has been running for over 10 years, in addition to playing tennis. My hats off to the instructors on this DVD for their precise instruction.

Movie Review: Help Your Game
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this because of the routines for Tennis since I enjoy playing, but had some issues in terms of moving as well as I wanted to.

This has really helped me improve my flexibility and I feel better when going for the ball, and more importantly, afterwards, where I do not feel as sore.

My son, who plays baseball and swims AAU, started using it and has found it has really helped him out. My husband is now considering trying it for the golf.

Nice clear instruction to help you with a variety of sports. Though you do "feel" it, it really is not a cardio workout, so I also added some more cardio workouts.

Movie Review: Great For Many Sports
Summary: 5 Stars

I first started using this DVD back in college when our coach found it and heard good recommendations about it.

There was some hesitation from some to use yoga, but everyone tried it and it helped alot. The routines are explained very well and in a straightforward manner which made it easy for us to follow, and I continue to use it.

You simply select your sport (good selection including some things I have added, such as running) and what you would like to work on. General, Legs, Arms, etc.

Alot of variety and helped alot with flexibility and preventing injury/nagging soreness after practice.

Movie Review: Any sport, any level
Summary: 5 Stars

I always thought yoga was something my wife and her girlfriends did and never considered it for myself until my son came home on a school break and told me the coach had them doing yoga... and he was liking it. He had this video with him and we did a workout together. I thought it was worth buying my own copy and I've been using it a couple times a week. Right now I'm doing the ski and basketball workouts since those are my winter activities. There's a lot on this video, lots of different sports and also different muscle groups to work on. Guys, yoga isn't just for your wife. Give it a try. It's really good.

Movie Review: get your practice going
Summary: 5 Stars

This DVD from accomplished yoga teacher Barbara Benagh is just the thing to get you going with your yoga practice. I started using Barbara's series of yoga sessions awhile ago now and have enjoyed them tremendously. She seems to set just the right pace, taking time to explore the positions, and also pushing you to new awarenesses. There is so much variety on this DVD that you never seem to be repeating the same sequence over and over as you do on tapes that have only one or two classes. I recommend this DVD for athletes as well as yoga students for a new appreciation of asana from this encouraging teacher.
