Movie Reviews of Yellow Submarine

Movie Review: The Blue Meanies are indeed Coming
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my favorite animation of all time. I am a huge fan of anime but I choose this movie over any of them. The thing is, alot of people think the producers were on drugs when making this. That simply isn't so. They made the film surrealistic in a drug-induced essence to hint at the fact that the Beatles were deeply influenced by illegal narcotics during the time of this film.In any case, the film is a visual treat for any age, even children because the strange images and creatures opens the vast imagination of children's mind. The characters also are always fun to watch. Like the cute lil' nowhere man, the psychotic effeminate Chief of the Blue Meanies, and of course, the wise-cracking Fab Four. Buy this movie, or at least rent it.

Movie Review: Beatles in 5.1. . . . CAN'T BE BEAT!
Summary: 5 Stars

WOOOOOOOOOW! Being young (17) I completely missed out on all the Beatles stuff, much to my dismay. And even though the voices in Yellow Submarine aren't the true Beatles, it's still a GREAT movie with weird, fantastic animation. But the best part of the whole thing is that DVD has that 5.1 surround sound. When I first heard it, it sounded kind of weird. But then I realized it was just another perspective on the same stuff. If you listen to the CD (stereo sound) and then this, it makes a difference. Even if you don't like the movie, it is worth every cent to have the Beatles songs it features in 5.1 surround sound.

The movie rocks, the quality rocks, and the music blows your mind away!

Movie Review: An extraordinary, exhilarating trip
Summary: 5 Stars

This film, especially this DVD, is in simple terms, a masterpiece. Its mind-boggling, original sights and ideas make you feel like you've stepped into some psychadelic dream. All these amazing places that you've only dreamed about are accompanied by some of the best Beatles songs ever, including the incredible "Eleanor Rigby" and "Nowhere Man." The scenes are beautiful and meaningful if you care to delve deep enough to analyze them. There's some great humor, too. If you haven't ever freed your imagination from the confines of today's society, this film from the freedom-loving sixties will do if for you. And if you haven't been privileged to experience the Beatles yet, this film will do it, too.

Movie Review: I'm nearly speechless
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't believe it's already been ten years since I saw this movie for the very first time when I was 7. Immideately, it became my favorite movie (animated or not), and I love it more and more as the years go by. For the longest time, it seemed as though I was the only fan of it anywhere; for nobody, not even most adults, remembered it. Was I overjoyed when it was re-released! The DVD is truly brilliant. I never knew this movie could look any better!

I think the reason why Yellow Submarine has held up so well for me all this time is that it can appeal to all ages. As an artist, it really changed my life. I don't know what would become of my work if it weren't for this film. And remember, the Blue Meanies RULE!

Movie Review: Perfect for those that keep the inner child alive

Turn off your mind
Relax and
Float down stream

¿Do you wanna watch a movie...
with no blood, no bad words, no nudes, no witchery, no romance, and... no Hollywood?

Sounds boring?

Well, my nephews love this movie. Perhaps it's because it's quite the same style as Sesame Street cartoons. I love it, too. But my pop-music-fan brother... He just can't stand it. It's too psychedelic for his simple mind. Some of my friends hate it, too. But strangely, kids love it! Could it be that there is a something about appreciating this kind of things that most adults seem to loose when they grow up?

If you still can appreciate things like you did when you were a child, you'll love this one.
