Movie Review: In the town where I was born.....

Having never seen The Beatles Yellow Submarine as a child (but having heard the song since I was just a wee lad) I was delighted to discover this classic in its newly restored DVD presentation. A fond admirer of The Fab Four, I have watched A Hard Day's Night like a million times. Sublte humor was their gift when they were all still getting along back in the days of yore (the lads from Liverpool called it quits with each other when I was one year old). The fact that my two daughters (one being eight and the other fourteen) have developed a fondness for this movie speaks volumes. In the era of Disney-eque oblivion, Yellow Submarine shines. Funny and full of delightful animated eye-candy, The Beatles rule the universe. Definitely a great movie to pop in on a lazy Saturday afternoon.Movie Review: Yellow Submarine...finally!!!

If any movie needed re-released in a digital, widescreen remix, it was this underated final contractual movie obligation by the Beatles. The DVD is almost flawless...one of the few I haven't been disappointed in. The widescreen picure is superb, and the soundtrack is absolutely stunning. I can't believe the "Hey Bulldog" scene was left out of the original...after all, it was the best song contributed for the project. And "It's All Too Much" really stands out in the new mix...a really nasty guitar sound. A much criticized offering...but, all-in-all, a certainly Beatlish event. If the original members aren't actually present in the production, their spirits and everything they represent certainly are. The final chapter in the psychedelia period.Movie Review: Favorite of my dad and myself for years!

After finding this movie gone from video stores about ten to 15 years ago, I was slightly miffed... The last video store in town to have it in stock finally closed down last year, so the re-release of Yellow Submarine couldn't come at a better time!I've been in love with this movie ever since I started watching movies. Lots of memories attached with it for me... It is easily my all time favorite movie. As for why they took it off the shelves at all is obvious: Disney takes their 'Classics' off the shelves to build up anticipation for the re-released version, the Beatles, or Apple, or whoever owns the rights, did it to revamp the movie and build up massive anticipation in the Beatles Fan Ranks... Well done, too, might I add... Thank Goddess its finally released!
Movie Review: It's All In The Mind, You Know

I saw this movie when it was first released back in the 1960s and have seen it a number of times since then. I expected the DVD to look better than some of the later film prints, but I was not prepared for what I just saw.The remastering work on this film is brilliant. It is an experience even better than the original. Scene detail is so sharp and crisp it could cut like a knife. The colors are psychedelic and the sound is rich and clear. Oh, and let's just say that the switch from mono to 5.1 really adds to the playfully surrealistic joy of the movie.
Yellow Submarine is a wonderful movie for the child in all of us and this version only makes it better. Buy this DVD and watch it with someone who isn't afraid to sing along.
All you need is love.

This movie rocks!!!! I love The Beatles so this was worth my money.
I bought this movie along with "Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd- 2 for 25 at HMV and when I got home I popped ii into my DVD player RIGHT AWAY and once the movie began, i was Instantly hooked. The movie is about Pepperland- a land beneath the sea full of happy and light spirited people-Until one day, the blue meanies come and invade everyone-So The beatles sail off in their Yellow Sub to save the day with music, fun, and Joy!
The best character of this movie is Jeremy Hillary Boob ph.D, who ultimately STOLE THE SHOW with his cuteness!!!! The animation is cute and the music is great!
If you love THE BEATLES you'll love this- So buy it!!!
