Movie Review: A movie for true animal lovers...
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie was fantastic. Funny, sad, very well-acted, and would have to be greatly enjoyed by real animal and dog lovers. For those who found it boring, they shouldn't have been watching it in the first place. And to the imbecile who says that it glorifies mental illness and animal hoarding, get a life. It's a comedy-drama, and it doesn't glorify anything but a love and compassion for animals. Those who actually do keep many animals in an unhealthy environment are not getting their ideas from movies. If you didn't like it, then that's your problem, but don't say such an idiotic thing like that about it, because it doesn't make sense.Movie Review: Year of the Dog

What is important in life and what makes your life worth living and fulfilling? That is what this movie is trying to relay to the viewer and I think it does! Even though this is a dark comedy with some very sad parts to watch, it is very uplifting in the end. It is one of those movies that I keep thinking about in the back of mind and try to keep myself more focused now on what really makes me happy. However, I gave this movie to a friend who did not like it at all. He absolutely could not get through the sad parts and see the overall message. Being a fan of Molly Shannon will definitely make it more enjoyable.Movie Review: humanity or animals

what a surprise. for those out there expecting molly shannon to fall over backwards in her chair you'll be very disappointed. this is a story about people who cherish there animals and people who don't have a clue. for those of us who've been blessed with the love and loyalty of our four legged friends you know what i'm talking about. i'm going to buy 2 or 3 more copies to give to friends. one of the more interesting films i've seen in a while. oh by the way, it was produced by brad pitt.Movie Review: Year of the Dog

Get a real life people and stop taking yourself so seriously! Really this is a movie about people who in general love animals. It's not about taking away your right to eat a bloody hamburger. I believe it is about a human that evolves morally. Yes it's true most humans never reach that point cause they just don't care or choose to be educated. This was a surprisingly dark movie. The way it starts out you'd think it's going to be a romantic comedy. But when Molly Shannon's dog dies, that begins her downward spiral into madness. Things just don't seem to go her way in this film and Molly does a great job of making us feel for her character. This movie was a lot better than I thought it would be.
