I wasn't expecting much from this movie with its bland poster and bizarre title, but what I discovered was one of the best romantic comedies in recent memory. Inventive and eccentric, this movie is touching without being maudlin. Based on the book Kneller's Happy Campers, by Etgar Keret, WRISTCUTTERS is completely unique and filled with bizarrely developed and adorably charming characters, of which Kneller is my favorite. I had never heard of the book before I went to see this movie. The synopsis was intriguing. Wristcutters turned out to be a fantastic movie. It is clever, unexpected, funny, and tells a good story. This is my new favorite movie. It's morbid and strange, yes, but that's just how I like things, especially when they're coupled with humor and a bit of sweetness. This movie was thought provoking and very well done. It has a great soundtrack too-Golgo Bordello! I highly recommend it.
