Movie Review: Great western

This is a great movie aside from the historically inaccurate premise of the importance of the model 1873. The movie is based on a novel idea -- following the actors' adventures through a trophy Winchester rifle changing hands by intent or accident between likely and unlikely owners. The final shootout between two rifle-wielding experts in treacherous terrain is the best part of this movie and better than most other Western blast-fests.Movie Review: Dont Mind If I call You Matt?

I am 13 years old I have seen many many westerns in my life and Winchester 73 was one of my favorites. This movie has a very good plot and good actors. The story of a stolen Winchester model 1973 rifle and the owner "James Stewart" tracking down his brother that stole it from him after he won it at a shooting contest and James tracking his brother down to get back his stolen rifle. I love this one. Again, this was a recommendation from the old man. He has fond memories of this one from his youth. I can see why. Jimmy Stewart hans in a great performance that shows a range one wouldn't expect from him. The story itself is good, as the protagonists get what is coming to them in the end. In the process, Stewart becomes a little tougher than in other movies. Great twist! All in all, a very good flick.Movie Review: classical, classy western

Once agin Jimmy Stewart does a bang up job. This is a western that everyone should have the opportunity to watch.
Every mom and dad should get this movie for the family "Friday night pop corn fest". Even the young kids of today will like this one. It's all good. Who knew Rock Hudson as an indian? But it works. GET THIS ONE they don't make em like this anymore, thats to bad. Hope ya enjoy it.

But Anthony Mann recreates the plot with significant insights that compensates by far, the whole script Fine direction and superb cast make the rest in this brisk - paced film.
