Movie Reviews of Will & Grace - Season ThreeMovie Review: Awesome Season! Summary: 5 StarsThis is quite possibly the best Will and Grace season ever! I would highly recommend it for someone considering just buying one season of Will & Grace (this is the one to own!). I would rate it higher than even season 1 and 2 because Karen and Jack really come into their own during this season. All the characters have developed their own unique tendencies and "quirkiness" in this season and the jokes are fast and furious! If you don't laugh hysterically during the 80's flashback episode, or the menage a trois, or Sandra Bernhardt's verbal assault, or all of them for that matter, well, then you just aren't human!
Hopefully we'll see season 4 on DVD soon but this season will satisfy the Will & Grace fans for now as it will make you want to watch it repeatedly!
Movie Review: Season 3 is Good! Summary: 5 StarsOn television, I never watched Will & Grace until Season 3 and was hooked immediately. Some of the very best and funniest W&G episodes are on Season 3. Most notably:
Husbands and Trophy Wives: the storyline of Karen and Grace is arguably one of Karen's best moments.
Love Plus One: Grace trying to be cool and do a three-way is so funny, but the should-have-been-emmy-winning-moment was Grace saying, "So you two kiss and make up, because the three of us are gonna get it on!"
Gypsies Tramps and Weed: Cher and Jack - what else needs to be said? Easily one of the most memorable moments on W&G.
Lows in the Mid-Eighties: Seeing these 4 in the 80's was so well written and costumes were great. Eric's performance here (finally dealing with the fact that he is gay and coming out to Grace and others) won him the Emmy that year.
Three's a Crowd - Six is a freak show: Grace tries not to be a shallow person by dating a guy with six toes on one foot and by the end of the show she can't take it anymore!
Swimming Pools - Movie Stars: Sandra Bernhard is awesome... and the higlights of the show are Karen at the public pool and Grace, Will, and Sandra doing "Midnight Train to Georgia" and the excellently written fight afterwards incorporating the blender sound everytime a curse word is uttered.
Young and the Tactless: Stan's mother is in town and Karen dumps her off with Will and Jack - who take her to a gay bar. Grace's encounter with Nathan (Woody Harrelson)is very funny, but honestly, we all knew this relationship was never gonna work!
Last of the Really Odd Lovers: is one of my all-time favorite W&G episodes. I LOVE Molly Shannon's Val character - she fits right in with this show with such ease. Her coming on to Jack is hilarious as is her scene at the bar showing her 'signed chest' to a guy sitting next to her like 7 times!
Some people think Season 3 is the beginning of a downfall for the quality of the show. I didn't think so at all, even though this season had its share of duds more so than Season 1 & 2, it is still quality comedy from start to finish. I still can't believe Debra Messing didn't win an Emmy for this season - what an outrage! But, at least she did finally win last year!
My only disappointment with the DVD is that I wish they would have included ALL scenes for every episode. That's the reason people buy DVD's, to get all the stuff that is normally cut-out when being ran through syndication.
At any rate, this is a must-have for anyone who loves W&G and loves well-written, well-acted comedy. Top-notch stuff people!
Movie Review: Another Great Season Summary: 5 StarsLike any comedy show, most do get old after awhile. Season 3 of Will and Grace is still a great season to own. I think after Grace got married and when Karens husband died it just wasnt as funny without her unseen husband she complained about so much. The show started going down hill. The past year wasnt so hot. The storylines were to unreal and the cast all seemed to have acted very cartoonish. Anyway season 3 is great. The bloopers are really funny on here which adds an additional bonus to this seasons set. I would recommend this one for your collection as well as season 4 when it comes out. However season 5 and 6 I think i will skip. The storylines need to be improved and made more realistic or the show wont last much longer.
Movie Review: great!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Starsokay first of all. you have your opinions. abd others have their opinions. i mean seriously you people just dont have the same tastes as other people so dont give will and grace bad reviews. and if you worked on the will and grace dvd 3rd season boxed set oyu would probably like the menus and the cover. plus it dosnt hurt you to just push a couple extra remote buttons!
Movie Review: Differing opinions Summary: 5 StarsI was reading an article today which said that Will & Grace should "do us all a favor by packing it in sooner than later", because it is "so shrill and unpleasant, and so reliant on splashy guest stars to provide a comic jolt, that it's hard to remember there was a time this show was considered sophisticated and fresh in its gay-friendly vibe. Now it's just a painfully cartoonish caricature of its former self."
I realise this is a generalisation, but why is it that people over 40 love Seasons 1-3, and are totally offended by the later seasons? On the other hand, younger adults think that seasons 4-6 are absolutely hilarious. Admittedly, the latter seasons are quite outrageous, but that, along with the farcical nature, witty satire, physical gags and pop culture references, make this show one of the greatest of all time.
