Movie Reviews of Why We Fight

Movie Review: Excellent, a must see (no exaggeration)
Summary: 5 Stars

This falls under the "if you're not enraged, you're not paying attention" category. To be brief: this isn't a low-budget conspiracy documentary with unsupported accusations and ranting (we need not mention names..). This is a quality production, and the contributors are legitimate experts in their fields. The famous Eisenhower speech warning against the "military industrial complex" is actually shown at great length, not merely quoted out of context. Politicians, neo-cons, defense contractors, and military brass are given ample time, so you can hear in their own words their side of it. There are also two touching personal stories that are followed, to show how all this ends up affecting average people. I seriously urge every American to buy, rent, or borrow this film and watch it through. We all got duped, its time to accept that and get to the bottom of whats going on. Be sure to check out all the special features, there is a good amount of extra material in them.

Movie Review: Inspirational - life changing
Summary: 5 Stars

"Why We Fight", is a powerful and balanced film that clearly documents the development of the US war machine. Many who see this movie might conclude that there is nothing we can do about current and future US Wars. The message to me is that the situation is hopeless ONLY if Americans continue to remain silent.

The Vietnam War eventually ended because a huge number of people spoke out. Now, regardless of the reason, few Americans are publicly expressing their opinion, although polls report great opposition to the war in Iraq. "Why We Fight" makes it clear that our nation needs citizens to speak out publicly, it needs role models, and it needs to understand that it is socially acceptable to oppose US wars.

"Why We Fight" has inspired me to rededicating myself to the US Peace Registry and US Peace Memorial projects. This will be the most important thing that I will ever work on; it could save millions of lives.

Movie Review: Why there's no choice about going to war."
Summary: 5 Stars

If you want to find out what is wrong about the last 30 years of bland, company-owned presdidents, this is the real deal. Yup, after this many years, raised during the Eisenhower years, when Dwight D. Eisenhower was seen on the tube as just a fuddy-duddy,this shocking documentary will make you stand up and salute Ike and those presidents before him, who never had the opportunity for Madison Avenue to "sell" them to the public. I consider the speech Ike gave days before Kennedy took office to be as shattering to the psyche as the Zapruder Dallas dastardly deal on JFK. After seeing this film, you just may be convinced that some advertising whip wanted a brand change that day in Dallas. It is clearly layed out by the documentarian that since we created the scaffolding to produce such persidential monsters, we ought to be man enough to tear down the scaffolding. I second the motion. A sobering view of war and how it can be sold so easily.

Movie Review: fascinating, well-made and deeply disturbing
Summary: 5 Stars

wow, i knew bush, rumsfeld, cheney and rove were liars, but i didn't know they were liars to THIS extent.. this is a very well-made documentary about "why we fight," in other words do we really fight for things like freedom and democracy, or things like oil, money, and global domination? the american public has been extremely misled, and this film shows you exactly how and why. i was shocked to see that the "highly accurate" missiles meant to kill saddam in the first strike of the iraq war actually killed no one but women and children. what, you didn't see that on the evening news? hmm, interesting. if you can watch this and not want to SCREAM, you have problems. and maybe you don't qualify as a true american. maybe we should kick you out and keep the "illegal" immigrants in. WAKE UP AMERICA. we're being taken advantage of every day more and more. it can only happen IF WE LET IT HAPPEN.

Movie Review: Like Ike
Summary: 5 Stars

While I am in no way the sharpest tool in the shed, I remain perplexed as to the reasons why so many of us accept our role as contented cattle heading down the chute toward the killing floor. President Ike Eisenhower had (at least) two things to his credit :(1) he was an experienced military leader who had 'been there/done that' and knew first hand what the cost of freedom was. (2) He had the foresight and vision to see the cost of war, and the amazing wealth that could be amassed by 'the military industrial complex'. It interesting to note that Eisenhower's original phrase was 'the industrial military congressional complex'. This film is very educational and yet very entertaining at the same time while always being intelligent. This film should be required viewing for everyone! Makes you wonder when the 'needs of the few' overpowered and became more important than the 'needs of the many'.
