Movie Reviews of What a Way to Go!

Movie Review: What a Great Fun Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

A terrific movie with an all star cast. I saw this movie years ago. I enjoyed it then and found it even more fun to watch on DVD. Yes of course it is over the top and mindless but it really doesn't matter. One of the few comedies that is actually funny. Hard to find nowadays in my opinion. This time I watched it with my 13 year old daughter who obviously knows none of the stars, except Dick Van Dyke who looked familiar to her. She actually loved it and she usually doesn't like my movies being a pre-teen and all. This movie is visually stunning with a continuous pace of entertainment from beginning to end. Delightful!

Movie Review: A New Favorite
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great old movie. In my opinion this is the best part that Shirley McClain has ever played. When they first made this movie they thought that it would be a blockbuster and it failed miserably. It is now considered to be a classic. It's a story about a girl that grew up very poor, all her mother wanted was for her to marry a rich man and live happily ever after. She ends up marrying numerous men, while trying to avoid money at the same time as slowly becoming richer and richer. It has a great ending. Definately a keeper!

Movie Review: At Last, It's Out On DVD !
Summary: 5 Stars

I grew up in the 1960s watching these type of movies with my mother and father on a Sunday afternoon. This one has always been a favorite of mine. Since DVDs came out I have been waiting for this to be released. It's a true classic of it's time. It has it all, great actors, glamour and comedy. Another great movie of the day is "Sergeants 3" (1962) (a funny western staring the famous Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop). I hope that too gets released on DVD sometime soon.

Movie Review: YES INDEED!....WHAT A WAY TO GO!
Summary: 5 Stars

This 45 year old comedy classic should be shown in
theatres everywhere again! It has the stars, the
comedy, the glamour, and the pizazz! I knew what
I was getting before I bought it 'cause I had seen
it 45 years ago on the "big screen" (when screens
were big!)and have never forgotten it. If you like
comedies, if you like musicals, if you just want
something truly enjoyable for two hours...THIS IS
THE FILM FOR YOU! ENJOY!!!

Movie Review: It's about time!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been waiting forever for this movie to come out on tape or DVD. FINALLY! This is an excellent flick, I highly recommend it. Louisa (Shirley MacLaine) goes through a series of husbands searching for a simple life, but each time she marries poor and they become rich - then die and leave all the money to her! It's very cute & funny. Her marriage to Pinky (Gene Kelly) is really cute. I forget who plays her bohemian artist hubby but that bit is really funny.
