Movie Reviews of What's Up, Doc?Movie Review: I can't stop laughing! Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best comedy films ever made, "What's Up, Doc?" is finally on DVD. The first time I saw this movie I had tears in my eyes and my stomach was in such pain because I was laughing so hard. And today when I view this movie I get the same reaction. The judge in this movie cracks me up! And Barbra Streisand is perfect. She's actually perfect in any thing she's ever done. I love her version of "You're the Top." It fits in perfectly. I was really looking forward to Barbra's commentary on the film. I was expecting stories from the set and what was going through her mind as she had to do some of the VERY DANGEROUS stunts but she really doesn't offer much. Once scene where she has to cross the street and these two motorcyclists come inches from hitting her she says she was so scared she closed her eyes and just walked straight forward. She seems to have forgotten everything else about the making of the movie. Most of the time it's like she's watching it for the first time and the little information she does give she sounds rather bored. At times it sounds like she's eating something. A bit disappointing for one of my favorite movies but I guess I'll live.
Movie Review: The Best comedy under the radar Summary: 5 Stars
I will try not to repeat what has already been said. Me and my brother use to watch this flick back in the 80's when we were kids. The comedy spoke to us. We couldn't get enough of it. It even had Boss Hogg in it. Who can forget him tripping the old rich lady over and over down the hotel hall. Brilliant!
Then there is the guy who is following the goverment agent and he is carring those golf clubs all over town and he keeps throwing clubs out as the chase gets longer...those are the small details of comedy that this flick is loaded with. The old granny at Mr. Larraby's reception when the fight breaks out and she picks up the gun and just pops caps off in the air....genius!
Barbara looks sexy as hell all tanned out and whitty as can be.
so many lines...the coutroom scene at the end is so funny.
Judge- "you see this blue pill...you know what its for...to remind me to take the yellow pill"
Kid- "I want my Bike back"
Judge- "I'll give ya your bike back...I'll give you a broken back if you don't shut up"
Agent-"I can tell you that in this bag is none other than top secret government....Underwear! Underwear?
BUY IT!
Movie Review: I Love This Movie... a bit dated for most, yet oh so fun!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This priceless movie with all its gags, bits and skillfully timed stunts and visuals is absolutely hilarious!!
Coupling the extremely funny and beautiful, Madeline Kahn with Ryan O'Neal, the geeky, handsome, straight man was "pure genius" and then there's Barbra Streisand and her character ...Superb, charming, beautiful, and devilishly impulsive!
I laugh just thinking about this union of character's... perfect!!!
All actors and their characters are played perfectly throughout - just like a good recipe take out one ingredient and it just wouldn't be the same.
The tangled mess that is this movies story line starts when Streisand and O'Neal's character's meet in a store while he's looking for aspirin adding along the way a couple of side story's that seamlessly come together over suitcases and what's within them, yes I said, "Suitcases!!" - all are the same style and make... then all hell breaks loose!!
"WOW!! Too funny and wonderfully entertaining!!!"
This is for me one of the best comedy's of its time/era!!! You've got to watch this movie at least once if not many times.
Movie Review: "My name is not Steve." Summary: 5 Stars
So utters easygoing Ryan O'Neal in this hilarious romp about one zany mix-up after another called "What's Up, Doc?". Barbra Streisand, at her most comical, intervenes in the lives of young couple, O'Neal and Madeline Kahn, helping O'Neal obtain his sought-after grant from a society of musicologists. He's Howard Bannister, but Judy (Streisand) affectionately calls him Steve, and he's determined not to let her interfere with him and his fiancee Eunice (Khan), whose name, by the way, is said 89 times in this movie, (I actually counted; it's so funny.) True, it's like a name you don't hear everyday, but you sure do here. Howard comes at a close second, Judy's name is said less than 10. So, as these characters check into the hotel, they, plus a wealthy woman and a man carrying top-secret government related material all carry overnight bags looking exactly alike. Hilarious mixups occur, plus unbelievable gags and jokes, plus a huge chase scene around San Francisco in which all end up facing a hilarously, weary judge in this unforgettable take on classic screwball comedies. You're sure to enjoy it, for you won't stop laughing with Barbra and Ryan.
Movie Review: If Youen't watced this, you're missing out! Summary: 5 Stars
When my mom frst wanted me to see this ,movie she told me about the part with the bycicle ride inside the chinese dragon through San Diego. She gtold me that her an a friend had gone to see the movie in the theaters and when that part came on, my mom dropped a huge bag of M'n'Ms and let them roll all over the floor because she was laughing so hard! When she finally got me to watch it, I was thouroughly prepared to have to sit through one of those bvoring "old movies" as my generation calls them. I expected to be bored. Boy was I mistaken! The charactors are so hillarious I could hardly contain myself! Unis is the best annoying fiance who has ever been invented, Judy (Barabara Streisand)is a jinks with a apital J, and Howard Banister (Ryan O' Niel),or Steve as Judy calls him,is a stuffed shirt musicologist. To make it even better, the whole part about Judy messing up Howards life is surounding by a backstory involving four matching travel bags. One is Howards, one carries jewels, one carried secret government documents and the last belong to Judy. This is one of my favorite movie of all time!!!
