Movie Reviews of What Dreams May ComeMovie Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this movie in the video store on VHS and had never heard of it. I got it because Robin Williams is my favorite actor. It has turned out to be one of my favorites. I had to watch it on DVD to see the colors in the "painting" when he first reaches heaven. They are fantastic. I've not yet bought this DVD, but soon will. I thought the whole concept of heaven and hell being what you make it was fantastic. It gives me hope that my heaven will be exactly what I want and that my loved ones will be with me. I highly recommend this movie for anyone. Parts of this movie will bring me to tears every time I watch it. It is a definite tear jerker....
Movie Review: A visual and thoughtful masterpiece Summary: 5 Stars
Be sure to have a high definition TV to watch this stunningly beautiful rendition of a tragic but beautiful love story. The pallet of colors is breathtaking and the story moved me. Have a few tissues available because it touches on many of the most heart-felt emotions imaginable.
This film won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and it is the vision of director Vincent Ward of a possible view of life after death. It challenges us to think of possibilities while also dealing with our humanness as well as our spirituality. I thoroughly enjoyed this film with Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Annabella Sciorra!
Movie Review: Teaching with Film Summary: 5 Stars
I teach high school English, and once we finished studying Dante's Inferno, I had my students watch What Dreams May Come. While it was not created as a representation of Dante's Hell, it does portray a vivid image of one author (the film is based on a novel)/director's vision of what heaven and hell are like. The film lends itself to meaningful discussion of life after death - including the idea of reincarnation. And, yes, I teach in a public school. And, no, there is nothing wrong with having this discussion.
Robin Williams (as well as the other actors) do a wonderful job in their roles.
Movie Review: LOVE IT! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my all time, ultimate, bar none favorite movie. This timeless film marries artistic genious with an excemplary story line. The special effects are unbeleivably beleavable and so original it will amaze you. During the course of this film I cry, every time, at at least 4 spots. Parts are funny and lighthearted. Other spots are dismal and serious. A love story to rival all love stories. This is an emotional ride that you won't forget. I've just finally gotten a legal copy because this film can be hard to find for a reasonable price, but whatever you pay it will be worth it.
Movie Review: My dream is a Theme Park Summary: 5 Stars
All I can say is that I loved this movie....I will not go into the technical aspects of it and I will explain....I loved it purely for the peace it gave me that I may possibly(and yes, I know this was just a movie)be able to choose where I go when I pass on....I am a 36 year old married woman with a 3 year old son and we all love Roller Coasters and Thrill Rides(yes,my 3 yearold is tall enough to have gone on quite a few)... It is just nice to imagine, even for just a moment that there may never be another line to wait in for a fantastic ride, That is what dream I hope comes for me.
