Movie Review: Excellent performances - great DVD feattures

One feature really makes this DVD worth buying: It includes the video for "The Saga Begins".It also includes the video for "All About the Pentiums", but who cares? I've been looking for the "saga Begins" video ever since they took it off the web, and now I finally have it again.
As to the performance, I've got to say that Weird Al and his band are among the most versatile musicians in the world, and it's only because of their chosen idiom that they don't get the respect they deserve. From a musical standpoint, this DVD is outstanding.
My one complaint about the performance is that the venue was really strange. It looked almost like an oversized school auditorium, and the audience was almost as well lit as the stage. Plus, the audience was about 50% young boys. As a result, I didn't get the real "rock concert" concert feel I would have liked.
One other DVD feature I really liked was the two hysterical mock documentaries ("Germs and You", and "Crimes of Carelessness"), assembled from old educational films. The look and sound of the shorts perfectly matched the old 16mm educational films I used to watch in school as a child, while the subject matter was.... well... different.

Our family has watched this concert, oh, maybe fifty times now, and we have just enjoyed it so much. Al has matured over the years; his comedy is hilarious without the adolescence of the past. After seeing this, we decided to go to a concert and discovered that the live quality was just as good as recorded, which, in turn, was musically as good a studio. Incredible! My only regret is that Amazon will only let us rate it 5 stars...it deserves much more than that!Movie Review: Wonderful!

"Weird Al" performs hits such as "the night santa went crazy" "its all about the pentiums" "my baby's in love with eddy vedder" "polka medley" "amish paradise" "yoda" "the saga begins" "like a surgeon" "one more minute" and more!!! Ever since I ordered this Dec 27th I have been watching this all the time. This is al at his best. See it snow in the arena and Ruben get shot plus more surprises. Al sing some of his songs form running with scissors and some old ones. The extra features are also great on this with his 2 new music videos and the 2 clips from AL-TV. I have seen Weird Al twice and I can honestly say that the man does not lipsync! He is awesome in concert. He sounded better then most of the mainstream artists that I have seen live. This video is a must for any Al fan. He is a very talented artist who has stood the test of time. I repete, Weird Al does not lipsync!!!! Get this video. Weird Al Rocks!!!
