Movie Review: "No she di-uhn": A different type of review
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, so I've read every review on this movie, and none of them touch upon the things that I (and most of my friends) personally think make this movie great. One might say this movie is man-bashing, woman-empowering, etc, etc, and while it IS about these things, I think that those aspects pale in comparison to why this movie is great for me: these women are such DIVAS, it's RIDICULOUSLY hilarious! The lines that come out of their mouths, and the situations that they get themselves into are utterly jaw-dropping, causing you to say "NO SHE DIDN'T" just say that! "No, she DIDN'T just do that!" "NO SHE DIDN'T" just have sex with a man and say "my body NEEDS this!" You are constantly left absolutely amazed with the boldness, brashness, and utter DIVA-ness of these crazy hoochie ghetto mamas, who do and say the things that you wouldn't dare do yourself. If you are into seeing beautiful black divas who know they da sh*t, work their bad-a** selves and shake their booties, and still come out clean without breakin their acrylic nails, then you will think this movie is off the hizzy. If you don't understand what I just meant when I said all that, then you probably won't appreciate the humor in these BLACK DIVAS!

Movie Review: Understanding!
Summary: 5 Stars

As a female, I enjoy watching what men call Chick Flicks but never watched them more than I had to. I enjoy horror movies, suspense, actions...
Watching Waiting to Exhale when I was a bit younger, I did not totally understand the concept of their struggles, often wondering why it is that the one girl would repeatedly put herself through a man that obviously did not really want anything to do with her but for sex only to hook up with a man that she obviously is not attracted to just for him to treat her coldly in the workplace. I could not understand why Bernie would burn some of her husband's belongings even the car then have garage sale with the rest, I could not understand why Gloria was hung on her very gay son's father hoping he would come back to her, I could not understand why Savannah would not hook up with the hunky fine chocolate brother... I could not understand why most of the things happened, but going through life itself, having children and friends I now do understand, which is why I decided to purchase this movie for my collections. Because inside of every female, there is a Savannah, Bernie, Robin and a Gloria.

Movie Review: Book was better, but I did love this too :-)
Summary: 5 Stars

I really love this movie. I go back to it every now and then. I love the music and the scenery and the entire storyline and everything about it. Some of it is humourous, same is a little sad, but the whole thing is excellent. It gets you at the start and keeps you engrossed. Angela Basset is one of the best actress' out there at the best of times, but in this she is fantastic. I love her throwing all of her husbands clothes etc into the car and setting it alight. That is such excellent revenge. I also loved Loretta Devine here. Her character gets involved with the late great Gregory Hines who is amazing and she plays her part well. There is a good 'cameo' spot by Wesley Snipes (yum) and even Whitney Houston didn't do a bad job. Look, it never was going to be nominated for an Oscar, but it's still a great girl movie and thoroughly fun. I love it. Check out the soundtrack too. It's tight.

Movie Review: Great Whitney movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a great Whitney movie. She did a great job and so did all the others. The movie was funny, touching and I didn't find it to be male bashing but rather about experiences of a group of women friends. I am also happy that it was a great success at the box office because it's rare that a movie about black women can go no.1, but thanks to the star power of Whitney Houston, it debuted at no.1 and was a big hit despite being released in limited theaters because it's a black movie who are a minority in the US in terms of numbers. By the way, Wesley Snipes is in the movie, he chose not to be credited but he's there for several minutes.
