  • On September 17, 2006, the WWE roared into Toronto, Canada, for its annual UNFORGIVEN showdown. A jam-packed event featuring some of the fiercest wrestling talent around, the year-end roundup included eight devastating matches, including a Hell in a Cell Handicap Match between D-Generation X, Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Big Show; a Women's Championship between Trish Stratus and Lita; and

Movie Reviews of WWE - Unforgiven 2006

Movie Review: Unforgiven 2006 - Hell In A Cell AND TLC Matches!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Unforgiven '06 looks to be the greatest PPV of the year! I expected SummerSlam to be a classic but it was one of the worst shows I've ever watched! At Unforgiven we will definetly be seeing not only a Hell in a Cell match, but also the return of the TLC match to Pay Per View! Now onto the matches:

2-ON-3 HANDICAP HELL IN A CELL MATCH
D-X VS. THE McMAHONS & ECW CHAMPION BIG SHOW
I think that this will be the main event as Cena can't main event ANOTHER PPV, and the PPV will end with the break-up of D-X. Obviously it will be the King of Kings and HBK that carry the match, and I think every man in the match will bleed like hell. Triple H will be screwed by Show as he will Pedigree either Shane or Vince but will be thrown from the ring to prevent a cover. This match should be amazing, with Shane, Vince, Big Show, and D-X all going to the top. The match will end when Big Show and the McMahons are nailed with a Sledgehammer on top of the Cell, then Show is hit by Sweet Chin Music followed by a Pedigree to put him through the top. D-X will win - although the McMahons might end the rivalry with a win - but either way I think Triple H will suddenly turn on HBK and nail him with the Sledgehammer to break-up D-X (this also gives HBK a good excuse to leave WWE for knee surgery). Should be around 15-20 minutes. The McMahons will be happy and Triple H will go for the I.C. Championship (he won't win the WWE gold for a while - maybe WrestleMania 23). Should be damn good, if not a classic. Long live the King!!!
WINNERS: D-GENERATION X via SWEET CHIN MUSIC & PEDIGREE
10/10

FINAL ENCOUNTER - TLC MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
WWE CHAMPION EDGE VS. JOHN CENA
This will be the match that ends the 9 month feud between Edge and Cena. I'm guessing it will be around 25 minutes. Hopefully Cena will win the title back (lets see an F-U off of the top of the ladder through a table!) and will face the Legend Killer at Cyber Sunday. This will be another bloody match, and I think Randy will interfere and RKO Edge to give Cena a chance to recover from a Spear off of the Ladder. Then Cena and Randy can start the feud of the year, going 1-on-1 at Survivor Series where neither man has lost! Edge will have had a good 3-month reign as champ, but now it's time for the real Wrestling God, Randy Orton, to become the Man! I'm going for Cena, but if Edge wins I hope Cena isn't made into a joke at the hands of Theodore Long! Expect everything to be used, along with high-risk moves, signature moves i.e. Edgecution, 5-Knuckle Shuffle & Edge-O-Matic. I wanna see Edge bleed like he did at WrestleMania against Foley!!! But please NO STF-U! It's just the STF, it's crap!
WINNER: NEW WWE CHAMPION JOHN CENA via the SUPER F-U
10/10

RANDY ORTON VS. CARLITO (W/ TRISH STRATUS)
As you might have guessed, Randy is my favourite wrestler, and WWE is making him more and more like the legendary Rock. Orton got mad at Carlito when he was prevoked the night after SummerSlam, and was attacked after 'losing' to Ric Flair. Randy then jumped Carlito and Trish backstage. Carlito then cost Randy and I.C. title opportunity later on RAW. Both men are great athletes, and I really like Carlito's new springboard/ high-flying style. Randy is finally becoming a main eventer again - what the hell was that about at SummerSlam?! Hogan should NEVER have beaten the Legend Killer, especially not in MATCH 3 of 7!!! I expect 15-20 minutes of fast-paced, intense action, with Trish inadvertenly costing Carlito the match, resulting in the Legend Killer hitting the deadly RKO off of the top ropes for the win. Hopefully we will see a Flying Cross-Body, Legend Killer Back/Neck-Breaker and Powerbomb-style Neckbreaker from Randy, and the Springboard Elbow, Cross-Body and Corkscrew Moonsault from Carlito. Carlito will be going high but Trish will accidentally fall into Carlito when she is on the apron, allowing Randy to hit a Super RKO in which NOBODY has, nor ever will, kick out of. Carlito will come really close, but Randy HAS to win for him to be allowed a title shot at Cyber Sunday. After Randy leaves the ring I think Carlito and Trish will make-out in Trish's last PPV appearance.
WINNER: LEGEND KILLER RANDY ORTON via the SUPER RKO
10/10

KANE VS. UMAGA
This will be Umaga's best match to date, but it will show the end of his undefeated streak. I think it will be about 5 minutes long as Umaga doesn't seem capable of long matches. Both monsters will fight well together, with Umaga and Kane all hitting signature moves, i.e. Free-Fall Samoan Drop, Sidewalk Slam, Flying Clothesline etc. Umaga will hit the Samoan Spike but Kane will kick out, and Kane will hit the Chokeslam but Umaga will kick out. They will probablly have a brief staredown before Umaga attempts a running Samoan Spike, but Kane will duck and Armando will be nailed instead. Kane will then hit another Chokeslam from Hell for the pinfall. The true monster will stand tall at Unforgiven!
WINNER: KANE via TWO CHOKESLAMS FROM HELL
7/10

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - TRISH'S LAST MATCH
WOMEN'S CHAMPION LITA VS. TRISH STRATUS
Although I normally hate Women's matches (NOT being sexist btw), I really like Trish and it will be sad to see her go. I think that this will be a long Women's match, with Trish winning after Mickie comes down and hits Lita in the back of the head with the title, followed by the Chick Kick and Stratusfaction for the pin. Trish will retire as champion, with WWE presenting her with the title as she is the most decorated Diva in WWE history. The next night on RAW a new Women's Championship will be introduced - which Melina will win at Cyber Sunday in a Battle Royal. I think Trish and Mickie will hug after the match, despite their past.
WINNER: NEW WOMEN'S CHAMPION TRISH STRATUS via STRATUSFACTION
7/10

3-WAY WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS SPIRIT SQUAD VS. THE HIGHLANDERS VS. EUGENE & JIM 'HACKSAW' DUNCAN
I have a feeling that this match will happen, although I think it will be just pathetic. I expect the Spirit Squad to use their numbers advanage to retain here. Really don't know what to expect because whenever any of these Superstars compete I watch something else. Won't be crap, just won't be all that good.
WINNERS: WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS SPIRIT SQUAD
6/10

RIC FLAIR VS. CHRIS MASTERS
This is just a guess at a possible filler match. Masters hasn't been seen on RAW in a while, and yet he is a good Superstar! This would be short and sweet, with the Masterpiece winning via the Masterlock. I'm guessing the match would be around 4 or 5 minutes, with Flair hitting his usual thousand chops (can he actually punch or kick?! - whooooooooo!) and Masters overpowering Flair towards the end. Masters will pick up his first PPV win...finally!
WINNER: CHRIS MASTERS via the MASTERLOCK
5/10

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
I.C. CHAMPION JOHNNY NITRO (W/ MELINA) VS. JEFF HARDY
I am really happy that Jeff is back on RAW, especially as he is in singles action now. Nitro is really athletic, with Hardy simply a complete nutjob. I expect a really fast flowing opener to the show, with lots of counters and Jeff hitting the suicidal Whisper in the Wind from the top ropes to get a near fall. Hardy will win his return PPV match via the Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb for the pin. Triple H will win the title from Hardy at Cyber Sunday I think, or maybe a Survivor Series. The Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley, will come to the ring after Hardy leaves the ring as the new champion, and will destroy Nitro with a barbed wire bat. Hopefully he will also hit Melina to shut her up - setting up Foley vs. Nitro in a stipulaton match at Cyber Sunday. Anyway, the extreme Jeff Hardy will win a really good opener and leave the new I.C. Champion!!!
WINNER: NEW I.C. CHAMPION JEFF HARDY via the SWANTON BOMB
8/10

If all of these matches happen then Unforgiven should be able to just beat the great Vengeance PPV earlier in the year. Can't wait!!!
