Movie Reviews of WWE Unforgiven 2003Movie Review: A Great 2003 PPV Summary: 4 Stars
3 on 2 Handicap Tables Match for the Tag Team Championship
Dudley Boyz vs La Resistance&Rob Conway
This was your average opener. It was pretty good overall. Some action in the middle. Some decent table spots, but overall just an average tables match to get the crowd going.
6/10
Test vs Scott Steiner
The stipulation was that the winner would get Stacy Keibler but if Test won, he would get Keibler and Steiner's services. This was actually a good match. Test hit some nice moves during the match and so did Steiner. The way Stacy Keibler came into play at the end really helped this match and I liked how they decided to end it like that. Good match, overall.
6.5/10
Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels (Legend Killer Match)
Now this was a great match! I love how the had this match early because it was a real attention getter. A fantastic match throughout. HBK got his spots to show that he is, well, HBK and Orton got his spots to show what he can do in the ring. Some nice moves by both men. Ric Flair made his presence felt throughout the entire match. The ending was something interesting to watch. They put in an ending that left both men walking out looking pretty strong. Great match.
8.5/10
Gail Kim and Molly Holly vs Lita and Trish Stratus
Just another women's match. This is when Diva competition was good but this tag match could have been left for an episode of Raw. Nothing special. I'd rather have seen a 1 on 1 or some sort of Women's Championship match, but it's good for what it is. Just don't think it was worth time on a pay-per-view.
4/10
Last Man Standing Match
Kane vs Shane McMahon-
Match of the night. Shane didn't even wait for his entrance to sneak up on Kane with a chair. Shane started the match off looking pretty strong with a lot of chair shots. Before long Kane started getting on the offense for a while. Great match throughout. A nice coast-to-coast with the steel steps by Shane that should have ended the match if it weren't for the ref being knocked out. I'm not complaining though. The rest of the match had Kane getting in a lot of offense before Shane again took the offensive. I'm sure everybody already know about Shane's 35 foot leap of faith at the very end! Amazing! Awesome match and definatly match of the night.
10/10
Triple-Threat for Intercontinental Championship
Christian (c) vs Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam
Wow! I feel as if these 3 men were robbed. If this match were placed before the Last Man Standing match, it would have gotten a way bigger reaction from the crowd. But anyway, this was an AMAZING triple-threat match. Jericho and Christian form an alliance in the beginning to take out RVD. RVD sticks in their and hits some nice moves throughout the match. Eventually, Jericho and Christian's alliance breaks down and they go at it. You just have to watch this to really know how good this match is. Watch out for an insane double frogsplash by RVD and a crazy double-powerbomb by Christian near the end. This was really the best triple-threat match I have seen. Each man got their spots and it was a near perfect performance.
9/10
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler vs Al Snow and Jonathan Coachman-
Winner would get to be the announcers on Raw. Well this match was a waste. Chris Jericho drop kicks Ross at the end to lose them their jobs to "break Steve Austin." My original plan was to just skip this match, but I watched it anyway, just so I'd be able to say I saw it. Terrible.
2/10
MAIN EVENT-
World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H (c) vs Goldberg
The stipulation was that if Goldberg loses, he is finished wrestling, if he wins, he is the champion. So, this match was just alright. Not a real good main event. Both men went back and forth for about 15 minutes. Nothing special. Not the best main event, but not bad either. It's worth watching once or twice.
7/10
Overall, this was a great pay-per-view and I would definatly recommend it to any wrestling fan. It is worth having and worth watching more then once. A successful PPV for WWE.
Movie Review: Unforgiven 2003 Summary: 4 Stars
Handicap Table Match for the World Tag Team Championship
Dudley Boyz vs. La Resistance and Rob Conway
Originally this match was supposed to be a six man tag team tables match. But a couple weeks earlier Spike Dudley suffered an injured neck. Bishoff then made it a handicap match. And Austin made for the tag team titles. All around this was a great way to start the PPV off. You got to see a lot of Tables, and the crowd really got into it. The Dudley's would prevail and become the new World Tag Team Champions. 7.5/10
Scott Steiner vs. Test
Was not a good match. Test is a very athletic man. And Steiner is horrible, he has all those muscles and can barley give a cruiserweight a tiger bomb. Test would win and keep Stacey Keibler, and Stiener would become Test Property. 4.5/10
Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton
Great match this help make Orton a true legend killer. He and Michaels did an amazing job of showing how to wrestle. But the ending I did not like. Orton got the Sweet Chin Music and was close to the ropes. Michaels got the 3 but it was overturned because Flair put Orton's foot on the bottom rope. Flair also gave him Brace Knucks. Orton hit HBK about 5 times with them while the referee had his back turned. Orton would pick up the victory. 7.5/10
Last Man Standing Match
Shane McMahon vs. Kane
Great Match if you love brutality. It started off with Shane beating the crape out of Kane with a Steel Chair. There were Many big Spots in this match. Including Coast to Coast to Kane. But the bigger man would win and that was Kane. Shane tried to drop an elbow onto Kane from the top of the titan-tron. Kane would move out of the way and Shane would fall all the way through the stage. 8.5/10
Triple Threat Mach for the Intercontinental Championship
Christian vs. Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam
Great match but the crowd couldn,t get into it after what happened to Shane. The match ran for about 12 to 15 minutes. Christian would retian the title after rolling up RVD. 8/10
J.R. and Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Al Snow and Johnathan Coachman
Of Course this match was horrible you have 4 of the most untalented guys all wrestlinf in the ring. Only good moment was when Jericho interfered and drop kicked Jim Ross in the back of the head. But the winners of this match would be the broadcast team on RAW and that would be Al Snow and The Coach. 1/10
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Triple H vs. Goldberg
It was a good match not great. If Goldberg lost this match he would have to retire. And Triple H could lose his title if he got counted out or disqualified. Triple H would hit Goldberg in the jaw with his sledge hammer. But it didn't have any effect. Goldberg would Spear and Jackhemmer Triple H to win the gold for the 1st tome in WWE. 7.5/10
Movie Review: 3rd Best PPV of 2003 Summary: 4 Stars
This was an awesome ppv, my third fav. ppv of the year(1st being Vengeance and 2nd being WMXIX). Here are the matches:WWE Handicap Table Match for the Tag Titles: Dudley Boyz vs. La Resistance and Rob Conway. Good match, considering the Dudleyz haven't had a table match in a long time. There were no special ways of eliminationg ppl thru those tables, but still a good match with the Dudleyz leaving the tag champs. ***1/2(out of *****) Test vs. Scott Steiner. This had been a fued that had gone on a long while, and this time if Scott won, he'd get Stacy, but if he lost, Test would have his services. A good match, believe it or not, since Scott usually has bad matches, but this is one of Scott's best, even tho the match was 7 minutes long. *** Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton. Awesome match, this is Shawn's best match since his encounter with Jericho. These guys really told a story in their match and showed their determination to win this match. The match was brought down some however with Flair interfering a lot and Randy winning with a brass knucks shot to HBK. But still an incredible match. ***** Trish Stratus and Lita vs. Molly Holly and Gail Kim. Ok match, nothing real big happening, except it being Lita's return match. Trish and Lita pull off the win with the Moonsault by Lita. ** Last Man Standing: Shane McMahon vs. Kane. Brutal as hell. The best Last man standing match I've ever seen. This match is way better than their Ambulance match at Sur. Series, and these guys did just about everything to each other, and a shocking ending you'd have to see to believe. ***** IC Title - Jericho vs. RVD vs. Christian. What was bad about this match was the crowd wasn't into it, basically got no reactions, which sucked, but the match itself was great. Nowadays, you'd expect a match like this to last about 7 minutes, but these guys went about 20 minutes, and did what they could to show their stuff in this match, including one spot with all three men that was sick. **** Raw Announcing Job on the line - Coach and Al Snow vs. JR and King. I didn't even watch it, we all know this match is gonna be crap, even if Al and King can wrestle a bit. But since I didn't watch it, I just won't rate it. World Title - Triple H vs. Goldberg. If Goldberg loses, he's gone. Boring match. The crowd wasn't into it, and neither was I. HHH basically did nothing but submissions, and Goldberg finished it off with his Spear and Jackhammer to get win and become the World Heavyweight Champion, much to the crowds' happiness. **1/2. Easter Egg - At the main menu, highlight matches, and press left twice, and than down for a special music video of the Unforgiven matches. This is a great ppv, tho it should of had more extras. Overall the ppv was one of their best this year, and one I'd recommend to anyone to buy.
Movie Review: UNFORGIVEN- GAME OVER!!!!! Summary: 4 Stars
3 ON 2 HANDICAPPED TABLES MATCH FOR WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP LA RESISTANCE & ROB CONWAY VS BUBBA RAY & D-VON DUDLEY 7/10- Spike was suppose to be in this one but was injured by the frenchmen. Austin made this for the tag titles. not the best tables match but still pretty good.TEST VS SCOTT STEINER(IF STEINER WINS, GETS STACY KEIBLER BACK. IF TEST WINS, GETS STACY & STEINER'S SERVICES) 6/10- not their best match. this feud has been going on since judgment day in may. time to end it,please! ending is what helps this match. MOLLY HOLLY & GAIL KIM VS TRISH STRATUS & LITA 8/10- best women's match in a long time. mainly because of the return of lita. lita shows no ring rust after being out for 1 1/2 yrs. RANDY ORTON VS SHAWN MICHAELS 8/10- a good match between these 2. orton as the legend killer is a good gimmick. evolution is a 2nd rate imitation of the 4 horsemen. ric flair's involvement hurts this match. LAST MAN STANDING MATCH KANE VS SHANE MCMAHON 9/10- an awesome hardcore match. back & forth action helps it. kane is just brutal in his treatment of shane. this helps his monster gimmick get over even more. ending is worth the price of this dvd. TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP CHRISTIAN VS ROB VAN DAM VS CHRIS JERICHO 8/10- match started out as a bore. action picked up after awhile to make this a good match. several awesome moves in this one. if not for slow start, would have been a 10. JONATHAN COACHMAN & AL SNOW VS JIM ROSS & JERRY LAWLER(WINNERS BROADCAST RAW) 7.5/10- no broadcasters for this one. reminded me of going to a house show. lawler & snow carried this one. thank goodness! j.r. & coach can't wrestle. good entertainment. WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE HHH VS GOLDBERG 8.5/10- a very good match between these 2. crowd was really into it. triple hhh's title reign has been way too long. reminds me of ric flair's days of cheating except flair could actually wrestle. goldberg has lost a step over the years but is still a good performer. ending is awesomwe. overall, was a good ppv. no horrible matches. raw is improving. still no special features. why is wwe cheating the fans?
Movie Review: September 2003 - Giant Center - Hershey, Pennsylvania Summary: 4 Stars
Pretty good PPV, although it looked a lot better on paper.
1. La Resistance & Rob Conway vs. Dudley Boys (World Tag Titles/Table Match)
Good way to kick off the PPV. Dudley Boys put on great table matches. Good bumps taken by all, especially the over-the-top rope table bump by Rob Conway. Good match. (8/10)
2. Scott Steiner vs. Test (Winner Gets Stacey Kiebler's Services)
This was the final match of the long lasting fued between these two. This was the best match out of all them. Great video clip before the match. There are a lot of near falls in the match. Good ending. Probably Steiner's best match in the WWE. (7.5/10)
3. Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton
This was Randy Orton's first great fued and first great match in the WWE. This was the beginning of his rise to the top of the company. Great match. (8.5/10)
4. Lita & Trish Stratus vs. Molly Holly & Gail Kim
Actually, not a bad women's match. (6/10)
5. Kane vs. Shane McMahon (Last Man Standing Match)
Wow! Great performance by the two competitors. This was a great fued. Good bumps by both men. Shane delivers the Van Daminator with the ring steps to Kane. Good shot by Shane with the camera on Kane. Shane goes to the top of the set design and attempts to hit Kane with an elbow off the top. Amazing. (9/10)
6. Chris Jericho vs. Kane vs. Rob Van Dam (Intercontinental Title/Triple Threat)
Very good match. It was just to bad the crowd was dead because they were still in shock from the last match. Great spot with the triple top rope suplex. Surprise ending. (8/10)
7. Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler vs. The Coach & Al Snow (Winner Is Becomes Announcers of RAW)
Why did they do this? Horrible match, and horrible outcome. (3/10)
8. Goldberg vs. Triple H (World Heavyweight Title/If Goldberg Loses He Must Leave the WWE)
Not the best match. Triple H was still hurt for this match. Nothing really happens worth noting. (7/10)
Good effort by the RAW brand. Pick this DVD up for the Shane/Kane match. It is worth it.
Overall Rating: 8/10
