Movie Reviews of WWE Unforgiven 2002

Movie Review: This Unforgiven won't need to be forgiven
Summary: 5 Stars

This was an awesome ppv. Triple H vs. RVD was one of the best matches along with Benoit and Kurt Angle. Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker was better than the HIAC match at No Mercy.
All together this PPV was outstanding and is definitly a getter.

Movie Review: Great dvd, but dont pay to much for it!

Movie Review: Chris Benoit v. Kurt Angle
Summary: 5 Stars

Both Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle can be considered two of the best pure wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots. Watch as these two former World Champions face off at Unforgiven 2002.

Movie Review: Very Underrated 4 Stars

WWE Unforgiven 2002 was a solid PPV, although a lot of people will disagree. I would actually give this PPV 3.5 stars instead of 4. This PPV was held in September 2002 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. I will review and rank the matches. The matches are based out of 10 points.

1. KANE, BOOKER T, BUBBA RAY DUDLEY, & GOLDUST (VS) THE UN-AMERICANS (TEST, CHRISTIAN, LANCE STORM, & WILLIAM REGAL)
This was a great eight man tag match and a very good way to kick off the show. It was a fast paced match in which we saw almost every wrestler use his finisher. The team of Kane, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Goldust win it after Kane hits Lance Storm with a Chokeslam for the 1-2-3. (8/10)
2. CHRIS JERICHO (VS) RIC FLAIR (INTERCONTINENTAL)
This was not a very good match, but it was needed for what would happen later on in the show with Flair. Jericho faked an injury which distracted Flair. This gave Jericho the opportunity to lock on the Walls Of Jericho and retain the title. (4/10)
3. EDDIE GUERRERO (VS) EDGE
Very good match. This match was much better than their match at Summerslam. (Although, these two wrestlers No DQ/Ladder match the following Thursday on Smackdown was amazing). Nonetheless, this was a very fast paced and technical match filled with a lot of near falls. Guerrero picks up the win after hitting a Powerbomb on Edge off the top rope. Amazing move. (8.5/10)
4. ROSEY & JAMAL (VS) BILLY & CHUCK
This was the only interpromotional match on the card. The stipulations were if Rosey & Jamal won, Stephanie would have to particpate in HLA, and if Billy & Chuck won, Bischoff would have to kiss Stephanie's behind. This match was a lot better than I thought it would be. The match is relatively short. Rosey and Jamal pick up the win. Stephanie is forced to participate in HLA later on in the show. (7/10)
5. TRIPLE H (VS) RVD (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE)
The two contrasting styles of these two competitors made for a pretty decent match. RVD looked like he was going to become new champ when Flair came out to attack Triple H. Right when it looked as though Flair was going to hit Triple H with the sledgehammer, Flair turned around at hit RVD in the ribs with the sledgehammer. Triple H applied the pedigree and covered RVD for the 1-2-3 to retain the title. (8/10)
6. TRISH STRATUS (VS) MOLLY HOLLY (WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP)
I don't remember this match. Trish wins the belt after connectin on the Stratusfaction. (2/10)
7. CHRIS BENOIT (VS) KURT ANGLE
This match definately stole the show. This match is a technical classic. Angle and Benoit have amazing chemistry in their matches that cannont be matched by anybody else. Great match. It is very fast paced with counter after counter. The crowd was on the edge of their seats for this match. It was very interesting because at the time both men were heels. The only problem about this match was the finish. Benoit picked up the 1-2-3, using the ropes for leverage. This match was not as good as their match at Royal Rumble 2003, but it was nonetheless an amazing match. (9.5/10)
8. BROCK LESNAR (VS) UNDERTAKER (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP)
This match ended up being a lot better than I originally thought it would be. There was a lot of intensity from both competitors in this match. The match ended horribly after the ref called the match a No-Contest because Lesnar and the Undertaker kept battling each other after warnings from the ref. It is pretty cool to see how much abuse Brian Hebner takes in this match. He gets tossed around. There is a lot of action after the match. The Undertaker gives Lesnar one of the biggest chair shots to the head that you will ever see. The show closes as Undertaker throws Lesnar through the video screen. (8/10)

EXTRAS
Nothing too spectacular. The Sunday Night Heat match between Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero is included. It is a decent match. There is cool Desire video for the Undertaker which features the theme song of Unforgiven, "Adrenaline."

At first I did not like Unforgiven, but after watching it a second time it was actually pretty decent. It wasn't one of the better PPV's of the year, but it is still pretty good. I recommend buying this DVD especially for the Angle and Benoit match.

Movie Review: An event worth being UNFORGIVEN!
Summary: 4 Stars

Unforgiven was a very good follow up to Summerslam a month earlier. The two world title matches weren't bad at all but the match that probably will be most remembered will be the meeting between Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. They stole the show.

1. Eight Man Tag
Kane, Booker T, Goldust, & Buh Buh Ray Dudley vs. Test, Christian, Lance Storm, & William Regal
This was a good choice to open up the show. This really got the crowd going. Booker t had a good showing. Action was coming from everywhere once the match broke out. Pretty good ending as well. Good opener. 4/5

2. IC Title
Chris Jericho vs. Ric Flair
This match really started out pretty good. But it wasn't as good as their summerslam encounter though. Some nice action in the ring and out with a little groundbased offense. Cheap tactics from Jericho was used which costed Flair the match. Not as good as their summerslam match but it's still worthy of checking out. 3.5/5

3. Eddie Guerrero vs. Edge
This was another rematch from summerslam. Eddie used some interesting moves to wear down Edge. Eddie really focuses on the head and neck region of Edge here. A very nice second encounter from these two. Pretty good match up. 4/5

4. Billy & Chuck vs. 3 Minute Warning with Rico
This match was here to decide if Stephanie McMahon would engaged in with HLA later on in the ppv. The match went a little slow at times. Billy pulled off an impressive counter into the famea$$er on Jamal. Other than that nothing really special here. 3/5

5. World Heavyweight Title
Triple H vs. Rob Van Dam
This was a really cool and nice match up from these two. I would have really liked to have seen this feud last a little bit longer than it did. RVD would mock HHH earlier in the match which would p-o hhh. RVD takes a nasty crash and burn dive over the top rope in trying to hit HHH. Triple h would then have the advantage for a little while. RVD got in some good counters. This match really exceeded my expectations. A very good title match from Raw. 4.5/5

6. Women's Title
Trish Stratus vs. Molly Holly
A better than average match from the divas here. This was a very emotional match for Trish. A great win for Trish. 3.25/5

7. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle
Benoit & Angle does it again. I said it before and I'll say it again, these two put on another classic match. I have to say that Benoit and Angle were made for each other. No matter what the situation is, they always put on a great match for us. Benoit seemed that he was gettng the better of Angle here which frustrated Angle. A good groundbased match mixed in with some very good counters, finisher reversals, suplexes, and some brawling. A great all around match up. This is certainly match of the night. 5/5

Hot Lesbian Action segment takes place here with the return of Rikishi.

8. WWE Title
Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman vs. Undertaker
This was a solid title match between Taker and Lesnar, too bad it was soon forgotten once their Hell in a Cell match took place a month later. This match was just a nasty brawl with some good slams and suplexes. Lesnar takes two of the hardest chair shots anyone has ever taken right here. The fans was really into this one too. The match ended in a brawl with the ref stopping the match once it got out of hands. A very personal vendetta for Taker. Another good title match but this doesn't even come close to their Hell in the Cell encounter at No mercy. 4.5/5

Unforgiven had a couple of good matches. Nothing really bad on this card. Mostly continued a lot of feuds. This is a good ppv to check out sometime.
