Movie Review: Jake Roberts
Summary: 5 Stars
I own this DVD documentary of Jake "The Snake" Roberts life. I know this man personally since we both were in the same high school together. I am about 3 years older than he, but we know some of the same people. Jake had a terrible childhood and his only escape and the only thing he really knew was Professional Wrestling since his dad Grizzly Smith was a Professional Wrestler. It's about time WWE released a dvd about Jake The Snake Roberts. The documentary was excellent! I found out lots of things about Jake that I never knew before. One of my favorite dvds! I especially enjoyed the matches and the other extras... When Jake attacked Randy Savage with that cobra was pretty Freaky!!! I finally learned how the ddt came about, and about how he struggled with the demons in his life. If you like Jake Roberts Don't hesitate to buy this. Not recommended for young children however.Movie Review: An excellent journey into the dark mind of one of the greatest pro-wrestlers ever...

Jake "The Snake" Roberts had an edge to him that was undeniable. In his heyday, no one could come close to Jake in intimidation, storytelling, and promos. The only person, in my opinion, that came close to Jake was Arn Anderson of the Four Horsemen, the orator of the stable.
But Horsemen aside, this DVD is an excellent journey into the background of one of the greatest professional wrestlers in America. Jake was the offspring of a very illicit relationship, the foundation for the intimidating character he became. The story provides insight into the origin of one of the most devestating moves in professional wrestling, the DDT. The fact that this move is now commonplace shows the difference between the modern tales told in the squared circle to the classic storytelling of old.
The matches are fantastic, and the extras are great.
But the opening poem by Jake sets the tone. Make no mistake, its a dark journey into the mind of Jake "The Snake" Roberts...

If you are a fan of Jake the Snake you will be absolutley enthralled watching this DVD. Indepth history of Jake's life as told by the man himself. An uncensorsed look at all the adictions that cut his career short, again led by Jake. I think what makes this DVD so interesting and entertaining is that everything comes from Jake himself. The man went through some difficult and scarring times and he lets it all out on this DVD.Movie Review: The Jake Roberts story

I thought this was an excellent DVD detailing the life of Jake Roberts. The hardships he had to deal with while growing up, the personality and intelligence of the man, and the talent are all showcased in this DVD. I felt this was one of the better WWE wrestler volumes I've seen.
