Movie Reviews of WWE Great American Bash 2004

Movie Review: Pretty decent PPV
Summary: 5 Stars

We started out with 4 PPVs in the original WWF to now having up to 29 perhaps when you count both raw and smackdown having their own seperate PPVs and the both brand PPVs like summerslam and the rumble. I say this since this event was the first smackdown double month PPV for the WWE. Not a bad event in itself and brings back the classic from WCW of the name, though you'd think it'd be a Raw thing since everything on Raw seems to make it look like WCW (think about it, where was Steiner, Goldberg, the NWO). Anyways back to this event.

Cena Vs Booker T Vs Rob Van Dam Vs Rene Dupree for the US championship- [a pretty decent matchup where instead of one guy getting a pinfall and winning, there had to be only one survivor to win and this match lived up pretty well]

Charlie Haas Vs Luther Reigns- [ A pretty good match which sets Luther up for his first PPV so he had to win to build up his hype... oops gave that one away, anyways a decent match]

Rey Mysterio Vs Chavo Guerrero for the Cruiserweight championship- [ a great match as we can expect from these guys, we do need more cruiserweights as these are usually worth the PPV alone just to watch cruiserweights fly in the ring]

Billy Gunn Vs Kenzo Suzuki [decent match and a good way for passing the torch as both guys had a good match {i'll explain the passing the torch later) ]

Sable Vs Torrie Wilson [i'd love to say this was a good match, but really it wasn't. Torrie I still don't see her as an accomplished wrestler since she rarely has a "wrestling" match and Sable rarely has a good match ever since she returned to the WWE. I know she was worried about her implants the first time around but this time she must have implants everywhere since she rarely wants to take a bump anymore. Can't even call this a T&A match since nothing was really shown... except the worst officiating of a pinfall ever. At least when a special referee hates the person in the ring and makes him lose, its a lot better officiating than what this guy did, he obviously had his mind elsewhere and must of been close to the gutter].

Hardcore Holly Vs Mordecai- [this like i said earlier is another example of a passing of the torch match (where all the wrestlers who have been around for a while help the new guys look good so they become the next big thing), the only problem was, this was Mordecais first and last PPV. After this PPV he was like gone back to develpmental. Honestly I thought the concept was pretty good much like this match was, guess WWE didn't agree].

Eddie Guerrero Vs JBL in a Texas Bullrope match for the WWE championship- [very good match as since no disqualification so to speak, anything goes. Ending is who you'd think would win, but not the way you'd think he'd win. very good match].

Undertaker Vs The Dudley Boyz in a Concrete Crypt match- [not even really a match just a brawl with a shocker of an ending, only thing is, the ending was unjustified since taker only was heel for like a week if that.

as I said a great PPV that was well worth the cost of the DVD that I highly recommend to get.
