Movie Review: The pedigree is the truth! Or is it?
Summary: 4 Stars
This ppv continued a couple of the storylines that developed during Mania. There wasn't a bad match on here but to be honest. The opening bout for me was match of the night.
WWE IC Title
Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jericho
This match surpassed their bout from Taboo Tuesday 04. They meshed very well together and delivered a great wrestling match. Matches like these prove how much of a talent both of these men are. Lots of mat base wrestling and some great displays of agility. The ending was excellent. I been known to rewind this match. Match of the night. 5/5
Tag Team Turmoil for the World Tag Team Titles
William Regal & Tajiri vs. The Heart Throbs vs. La Resistance vs. Simon Dean & Maven vs. Hurricane & Rosey
Good thing I careless for star power and I only look forward to good wrestling. This match certainly delivered. William Regal to me has always been a very unappreciated wrestler. He pulls out grapples that causes me to rewind and check it out in slow mo almost every time. If anyone says Regal sucks, then they don't know real wrestling.
This match moved at a pretty good pace. The eliminations were pretty quick and it never became stale. 4/5
Last Man Standing Match
Chris Benoit vs. Edge
Another feud that began at mania and breeded a very good match. The thing I liked about this the most it didn't turn into a weapons spot fest from the start. They fought and wrestled a good match and the weapons came into play sparingly. Another reason to see this ppv. 4.5/5
Kane w/Lita vs. Viscera w/Trish Stratus
A big man match that had its moments. Some nice impact slams at times plus the women added to the match. The funny segment after the match also added to it a bit. 3/5
Shawn Michaels & Hulk Hogan vs. Muhammad Hassan & Daivari
This was a match I didn't look forward to because I knew what to expect. I was 100% right but the match was still good. Shawn wrestled at times with the opponents while Hogan did what he does best and that's get the crowd into it. And man, were they into it. One would think that by now they would be tired of the big boot and leg drop. This match proves otherwise. A very entertaining match that was too predictable at times. 3.5/5
Around here Christian does a promo beefin' about not having a match. In which I feel he has every reason to be upset. It's definitly worth hearing. Christian is a fantastic talker.
World Heavyweight Title
Batista vs. Triple H
Better than the first encounter with the storyline of Batista fearing the Pedigree. The problem I had, it was overplayed a bit early. Still, they put on a very good match that had that main event feel. Ko'ed refs and lots of interference. They would go on to surpass this match with their very brutal Hell in a Cell match at the next Vengeance. 4/5
The ppv is worth checking out and the DVD isn't too bad. It has several promos, interviews and the Backlash promo video. Plus a Sunday Night Heat match featuring Tomko vs. Val Venis.
