Movie Review: Volver lives up to Oscar Hype!

I loved this movie. All the female stars are excellent. It was hard to know if it was a ghost story or real. The director is always great with the way he tells stories from a women's point of view. This movie proves the bonds that women have are forever, even though there are sometimes boulders in the road. Family and woman sisterhood are the same. the performance by Penelope Cruz is great, you really get the character and what she went through!! the plot is incredible, I couldnt believe the comedy aspects found in those subjects.
The movie in general has a dark sense of humor, so if you like ironi or sarcasm this is your flick!

it's a dark dark film and the viewer doesn't really get to put the pieces together until the end of the film. I think if you read most of the reviews before seeing this film it will, for the most part, spoil it, since many of the reviews let the cat out of the bag.

One critic wrote this is "Almodovar light" but for me it is "Almodovar great." Fine, original plot with a poetic structure, splendid acting from his bevy of appealing women, wonderful colors and photography, and a tribute to the mother of film as cued by a shot of Anna Magnani.
