Movie Review: Volver a verla!
Summary: 5 Stars
This was an awesome movie! The family dynamics are intriguing and you'll love the mystery of the mother that returns from the grave. There is one scene of partial nudity and some sexual content. Other than that, the movie is pretty clean.
La película es maravillosa! Las mujeres luchan contra su mala suerte con sus hombres y tratan de arreglar su familia. Penelope Cruz canta en una escena y es fabulosa. Ojalá que yo pudiera cantar así!

This movie is everything an Almodovar film is always hyped up to be, but unlike his last film, this one is great. I had literally been counting down the days to watch this film and it is by far my 2nd favorite of his (1st one is Talk to Her). I was disappointed with Bad Education, but he nailed every single detail in this film (you'll definitely see what I mean, especially if you're Latino).Movie Review: Almodovar does it again!

Another great film by Almodovar...I have seen most of his films because of a class I took in college, so it's interesting to see his development as a filmmaker. Even though his last films are a little more serious than his first ones, he does a great job in Volver combining the absurd with the everyday, the taboo subjects, nostalgia, complex realtionships all wrapped into one.Movie Review: Penelope Cruz is Oustanding.

If you've only seen her English-language films, prepare to be blown away. I have to admit, I didn't think much of her acting after seeing "Vanilla Sky". But she gave the performance of the year in "Volver", as far as I'm concerned. I doubt she'll win since foreign films face an uphill battle for Oscars, but she really should.
