From the distant days of the LASER DISC, I knew about this legendary and unequalled performance. Gidon Kremer and the English Chamber Orchestra played the most known masterwork of Vivaldi.
Kremer adds not only refined lyricism, exuberance, distinction and sublime panache. Nowadays he's one of the top five living legends of the violin around the world.
His performance is brilliant, mesmerizing and overpowering without never falling into mannerisms or artificial poses, and his tune is so enjoyably pleasant, hovered by an authoritative conviction and radiant musicality.
I wouldn't doubt for a moment to regard this performance will elicit in you a new vision about this distinctive approach.
A real artistic feat.
