Movie Review: A must for serious collectors of Coming of Age films
Summary: 4 Stars
This is not a Hollywood production, filmed in Italy and worth a look! Vito is orphaned after his father kills his family and is taken away to prison leaving Vito to fend for himself. Though the film is fictionalized, this is a realistic look at the street children of Naples. Day-to-day life of drugs, stealing and in and out of youth detention centers where gang rape of the young boys is common-place, the story of 12-year-old Vito and his young friends will shock you. I may sell this film from my own web site, but that does not mean I cannot appreciate a good film and comment on it!
