Movie Reviews of Visitor QMovie Review: A family gets help..? Summary: 5 Stars
The movie seems very simple. A dysfunctional family becomes a functional family. Yet while they do seem to solve many of their problems - the husband no longer cheats on his wife, his wife no longer takes drugs and their children seem to turn out OK - the end result isn't REALLY a functional family. To write a review about what happens might turn off people who might enjoy the film. I found it funny, sick, twisted, interesting and full of hope all at the same time.
Movie Review: Genius! Summary: 5 Stars
Visitor Q is up there as one of my favorite Takashi Miike movies, it is no doubt the strangest movie I've ever seen. Its probably more of a black comedy then a horror movie and the funniest movie ever. Me and my friend were almost crying we were laughing so hard watching this! Though its not a complete gore-fest(it has its scenes)it doesn't have to be to shock and disturb you. If you liked "Gozu","Audition" or "Ichi" you will probably like this.
Movie Review: Strangely Uplifting Summary: 5 Stars
My only complaint with this movie is the low visual quality, it being shot on video, but the movie makes up for it in spades. Full of nearly every perversion possible, this is a movie which is hilarious in an extremely twisted way, and strangely touching in it's climax. A must own for Miike fans, purveyors of asian cinema, or the twisted. No freak or asiaphile's dvd collection is complete without this and Ichi The Killer.
Movie Review: A special movie not for all Summary: 5 Stars
In this movie you can see what happens to our modern world. This family shows all the influence of our modern life. There should be more movies like this. Please translate the film to English and German to give more people the chance to learn more about the dark secrets in families and the human soul.
Thanks to Takashi Miike for this MASTERPIECE .
AUDITION is also a masterpiece of movie
Movie Review: Brilliant! Deeper than most people would like to think. Summary: 5 Stars
At first glance you think this film is a collection of scenes where the director tries his hardest to offend you. Not so. Underlying is a strong social commentary on moderns japanese society and a strong family message. A stranger enters the life of a disfunctional family and has profond effects on them all. It's shot on video which makes it all the more realistic and effective.
