Movie Review: Miike's best film, simply incredible

Yes, Audition is masterful, but in my opinion this is Miike's best work.
The less you know about this movie the better. Yes, its sick and twisted, but its also an incredibly heartwarming family film, and no, I'm not being sarcastic. The fact that Miike can make these two elements coexist and actually work is an accomplishment in itself. I've never seen a movie so funny and shocking as this.
If you can't handle dark or twisted humor, you will not like this. If you do have that sense of humor, you will absolutely love it and consider it one of your favorite movies of all time, as I do.

Are you kidding me? This is so awesomely sick! I gotta drink a beer with Takashi Miike someday. Or sake, or whatever, that guy is way too cool.
Here is the most twisted, deranged, sick, offensive, bizzarre films ever. It even has a dark, unsettling humor where you might be embarrassed that you just laughed.
Not a lot of brutal murder shots in this one, Miike tries to come up with the sickest stuff imaginable just for kicks. It's packed with--no wait, it's better you have no prewarning. Just buy this film, watch it, love it!

I'll be honest and admit I had to turn it off after 30 minutes because my girlfriend couldn't stand it. I had to watch it when she went to work. I loved it. There are a lot of reviews that try to explain what it all means and what Miike is trying to do. Forget trying to understand. Just watch it and explore the style and the things he throws in the film. Sure, you might be offended. I wasn't. Just keep an open mind and immerse yourself in his world. It's wild and wacky. Let go! if you enjoy Miike's then you should love this... i know i do
it's basically a story about a dysfunctional family that is brought together again through a series of taboo/vulgar events... you will be shocked. if you aren't shocked by this film, there's something wrong with you. of course like all or most Miike films, there's plenty of humor to prevent you from taking it too serious. this film is NOT for everyone but i hope people give it a chance. i'd suggest renting before buying if you can find it.

If you are presently a fan of Takashi Miike then by all means you must see this movie. It features a damned family that is visited by one calamity after the next. Black humor and utter perversion comprise most of this films content and it moves very quickly and never ceases for a moment to entertain. Thank god for Japanese cencorship laws blurring "junk" too, as without that this movie could truly have crossed every line imaginable and would have been even more difficult to watch.
