Movie Reviews of Vision Quest

Movie Review: The Best Wrestling Film EVER Made...
Summary: 5 Stars

Vision Quest is a truly inspirational film. From it's captivating central character Louden Swain (Modine) right down to it's fantastic soundtrack (Red Rider, Journey). The film centers around a high school seniors' attempt to become the absolute best wrestler he can be by dropping 30 pounds to wrestle the undefeated state champion Brian Chute. Louden is nothing short of obsessed with making the weight and getting on the mat with Chute but that all changes when a homeless artist (Carla) enters his life. Vision Quest is at once a romance and a fascinating look into amateur wrestling. I can still to this day remember my wrestling coach showing us this film and being so totally pumped after it. There's also some great lines between Louden and Chute: "You're a bleeder and I like blood." "Oh yeah, how about you're own?" Anyway, you just can't go wrong with this film especially if you are a wrestler. This film is the ultimate motivational tool for grapplers and just a feel good film for anyone. Highly Recommended.

Movie Review: Great movie
Summary: 5 Stars

This is just a great movie plain and simple.

Movie Review: I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this movie mostly because it was filmed in my city of Spokane, Washington. I just found this out yesterday by watching it on VH1. I never knew that Spokane had been in any movie before. WE NEVER GET ANYTHING EXCITING HERE! WOO HOO!

I watched the movie and the plot was good :)

I recommend it to many people.

Movie Review: Vision Quest slams down the opposition
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an emotional movie about a boy destined to be a man. In this tearjerker, Matthew Modine turns in a wonderful performance, starring as Lodin Swaine, the high school wrestler struggling through the pressures of the wrestling life and also the perils of being a teenage boy. With a pending potential match against defending state champion, Shute. While cutting weight and training for the big match, Lodin meets an older girl named Carla, and falls in love. The movie ends with the climatic match...and you'll be surprised with the turnout.

This movie takes you on an emotional roller-coaster through the harsh life of a high school wrestler. Being one myself in the past, this movie touched a soft spot in my heart. This is a must see for wrestlers and anyone else who has struggled through a tough time in life.
