Movie Review: Never before in history has there ever been a movie like this!
Summary: 5 Stars
No, really. I'm totally serious. I've never, ever seen anything like this before. They must have all been so high when they made this musical that you can get stoned just watching it.
Look at it this way... If CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC was a high school, the entire cast would be the "cool" people who were always in DETENTION.

All I can say about this movie is "Just what were the makers of this turkey thinking?". It stars the overrated disco group The Village People and by the time this movie was released their star had already faded. What I can't fathom is how come none of these guys fell in love with the beautiful Valerie Perrine? This film captures a moment in time that only a few other films manage to do. Think: THE WIZ, THE APPLE, XANADU. Great early 80's camp! Granted also technically cruddy but hey, the music, the dance numbers, the outfits! It's great for for a night of crappy entertainment that won't tax the brain.Movie Review: Village People Video

I was glad to discover amazon stocked this rare video of 70's/80's kitch. It comes across now as slightly OTT and amusingly camp - but it's well worth it just to hear the great music of Village People. A must for any lover of musical entertainment.Movie Review: cheesy/awesome 80's musicals

awesome movie...in the 80's there was a rash of musicals that were soo bad that they are great...guilty pleasures, if you may... in addition to 'Cant stop the music', theres Xanadu',and 'Grease 2'. check them out and enjoy a trip back to the 'trippy' 80's.
