Movie Review: Beautifully piquant - but is that a bad thing?
Summary: 5 Stars
As an obsessive fan of David Bowie, I was warned against this movie. As a curious moviewatcher, I went and saw it anyway. It was breathtaking. Several elements are, obviously, taken from Bowie's life. But it is shallow to condemn the movie on that basis. Velvet Goldmine stands, glittering, as one of the very best movies I have ever seen. And the soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard. Both will definitely join my collection and be well used.
