Movie Reviews of Varsity BluesMovie Review: Best movie about high school football! Summary: 5 Stars
It explores the world of high school football through the eyes of the star. Not only is the entire story true, it expands on the novel Friday Night Lights and does not talk about recruiting like Johnny Be Good does. This is the most entertaining movie about a real life experience, football and actions of parents and adults to take the fun out of the game. I recommend this movie to any football fan and any parent with a kid in athletics.
Movie Review: One of my all-time favorites! Summary: 5 Stars
I was an exchange student in the US in 97/98 and I just loved it! When I got back I started missing the US so bad. When I heard about Varsity Blues being available on DVD, I just had to buy that thing! (those jerks didn't even show it in Swiss theaters! ) And all I can say is that the only thing I really didn't like about this movie was that it only lasts for 104 min! I could be watching this thing all day! GREAT MOVIE! Better buy it!
Movie Review: I thought this movie was great. Summary: 5 Stars
This movie not only depicted how high school boys act, especially Tweeder, but it showed how high school (at least in the south) really is. Although the accents were a little much, I thought it gave the actors a little charm. On another note, I wish it would of showed what happened between Mox and Jules a little more. Overall, however, I loved the movie and bought it as soon as it came available. I watch it every night.
Movie Review: Great Film Summary: 5 Stars
A great film from start to finish. The sports aspect mixed with teenage life made for an excellent film. The comedy was funny, and the serious moments were impactful. James Van Der Beek, plays the strongest character I have ever seen him play. He played the character to perfection, particularily at his serious moments involving his inspiring speeches. The football action was real, and well shot. An overall great movie.
Movie Review: Varsity Blues Scores! Summary: 5 Stars
As a high school senior in a small Texas town, I can appreciate the honesty involved in this movie. I can also say that this movie is NOT just for the teen generation...my dad I watch it together, and we both love it! If you love football, high school, and even if you hate them both, this is one movie you MUST see. (Sorry DVD lovers- the special items aren't so special on this particular movie!)
