Movie Reviews of Vanity Fair (A&E, 1998)Movie Review: Mildly entertaining Summary: 3 StarsI had just finished reading the book and was anxious to see what A&E had done with the story, since they had produced such a wonderful adaptation of "Pride and Predjudice". I was disappointed with "Vanity Fair" since many of the characters and events were skimmed over or left out altogether. In fact, if you've not read the book, you may have a difficult time following the film. However, this production was lavish and colorful, if nothing else, and the acting was good. I was amused for a few evenings, at any rate, but if I had it to do over I'd save my money.
