Movie Review: Good low budget fangtasy
Summary: 4 Stars
I've only viewed the final film of the Subspecies quartet, but my interest was peaked enough to pick up this related film. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it, as it is a fun romp. Jonathan Morris plays his role with just the right amount of camp, and the others are equally good, if a little over serious occasionally (with the exception of sofia, who's got a very cute smile). For fans of the final subspecies this is definitely a good buy, although its hard to tell whether its a prequel or a sequel. All in all a well shot, interesting vampire film. Movie Review: Best Movie Ever !!!!

Vampire Journals is one of my all time favorites. Anything from full moon pictures is good. The movie is very original, I love the scenery, the lighting, the music everything. The actors are perfect and I really enjoy the dialogue. It's very old world, movies that are filmed in eastern Europe rock, I love when Zackery is telling Sofia that Bucharest is one of the cities of mysteries, a city where the ways of antiquity exist in league with the modern world, stuff like that is priceless.Movie Review: Liked the look

It had the feel that vampire fans go for.

Man, there's no way to describe this movie.
Slow, boring, unidimensional, bad plot, really bad acting...
Really low-budget (in a bad way)
I'm not gonna get my time or my money back. I bought it based on the reviews, and they were really off... Even if you enjoy the gothic ambience, believe me, it's really bad.
You've been warned.
Movie Review: Subspecies before Vampire Journals!

Watch Subspecies again in order. Vampire Journals can't be Subspecies 3&1/2 because Ash(The music lover) and master vampire of Vampire Journals is rendered to dust at the end. How then can he be in Subspecies 4? (which he is). Vampire Journals is just another vampire movie with ties to the Subspecies series to keep a continueing saga going. All of which were pretty well since they were Full Moon pictures. And actually the saga continues with Charles Band's new video Decadent Evil which was just released. That starts with vampire ties to the spawn of Ash(Vampire Journals) now in America.
