VAMPIRE HUNTER D was made in 1985. So, if you cannot handle animation that looks "dated", beware! As for me, I love this movie w/ its dark, caustic atmosphere, vampires, werewolves, mutants, and monsters! I like Doris, her brother Dan, and the Doctor. Of course, the title character is the best thing about VHD. He's sort of a Clint Eastwood / Van Helsing hybrid w/ a dark secret of his own. The first time he took off his left glove, my jaw hit my knee! Fabulous stuff for all true ani-monsters...Movie Review: A Classic Anime now available on DVD

This is by far the best anime movie that I have ever seen. Incredible animation, excellent voice acting. The extras are killer to, including a preview of the new movie and making of feature. It has an incredible plot that will pull you right in. You can watch it in both english and Japanese. But above all, this is simply the best anime movie ever made. Wow what a great anime! there is a lot of action and violence early on. this is one of the first anime I have ever seen and it sets the bar high for all others. I've already ordered the sequel (Bloodlust) on ebay. i wouldn't recommend this movie to children due to extreme violence and a little nudity. There is a great story which is not too hard to follow. The plot twists and turns throught the movie and it definately keeps you on the edge of your seat. Buy it today!Movie Review: One of the best anime's I've ever seen

Vampire Hunter D was the first anime movie I ever bought and one of the first I've ever seen. Hard to believe the it's over 15 years old, and the dated animation shows it, but thats only a minor gripe. The movie's moody atmosphere and dark, gothic design really set it apart from other anime's, and D is one of the best anime heroes I've ever seen. Combine that with the all out bloodfest and an actually good storyline, Vampire Hunter D is an all time classic.
