Movie Review: Lost in translation
Summary: 5 Stars
An amazing film with an amazing child actor. Everyone else who reviewed this film already spoke of the plot, so I will skip over it. Indeed, you'll fall in love with Valentin. Unfortunately, the child's humour and incredible maturity (especially in his voice-over narration as the film progresses) are completely lost in a shabby subtitling that only gives you a gist of what he expresses. Because I am originally from Argentina and, after 25 years in the US speak English fluently, I was extremely saddened to see that a better subtitling job could make you fall in love with Valentin three times harder. I want to share this film with many close to me, but I would spend most of the time having to add much to the loss in translation.Movie Review: "A Powerful Cute Movie!"

valentin is 8-years old and has a terrible life. His only friend is an acoholic, but is kind to him. Valentine is a foriegn film, but worth reading the subtitles! Then his dad's girlfriend steps into the picture. She betrays him by telling his dad their conversation. Alejandro Agresti is a great actor for his age, and Lecita shines as the mother. The grandmother dies and Valentin becomes really said. I won't tell you anything else, but you should watch this excellent motion picture!Movie Review: valentin

If you are familiar with Argentine slang, you will have a treat, with this street smart 8 years old kid.
The human aspect and the real picture of an Argentina of the 50's is incredible.
If you are not familiar with the language, the translation is quite accurate !
Great Movie, will leave you sad and happy at the same time.
If you have an Argentine friend, invite him/her in to help you with the language and see them laugh their hearts off.

If you like to experience a great movie, about the life of a 8 year old not so young kid, and his outside of the world relationships, this is teh right movie. This kid knows how to be in all the viewer's hearts.
One advice, try to keep a argentine-english dictionary nearby, because there is a lot of argentine's word used. That we, spanish speaker did not get all the argentine words used
Movie Review: Great Movie!

This movie is awesome. The story is really moving, entertaining, well written and well directed. The soundtrack is amazing, especially when they play Almendra (one of the best, most mythical bands!). It has Julieta Cardinali, and she is awesome. The actor who plays the kid is also amazing.
