Movie Reviews of V: The Final BattleMovie Review: They dont make em like this anymore Summary: 5 Stars
I can recall this show being shown in the mid eighties.I loved the original mini series and final battle. Then i saw some episodes from the series.I didnt watch every episode,i caught up with some though.I dont think i appreciated the series as much as i did the fist 2 mini series(The Original Mini Series and Final Battle),although i did enjoy the episodes i saw at the time. Its such a pity it didnt last as long as some of those other Sci-Fi shows.I found every episode entertaining, and at times very exciting. The series that came after the first 2 mini series got increasingly obvious that budgeting must have been a problem. But it must have been a very expensive series to make,as there seemed to be alot of characters,as well as the staging seemed lavish. One thing that amazes me is with all the technology that the aliens had,all they seemed to do was fight one another.Dianna seemed to want to be in complete control of eveything, but the resistance kept upsetting her plans. She was a nasty horrible and at times violent leader, but was also very beautiful...and i think im in love...thats right yet again.Even if she ate mice and birds and other live creatures, each to their own i say,im tolerant. This entire show was excellent.
Movie Review: Well it's about time! Summary: 5 Stars
When I was growing up, there were a few video possessions I had that were absolutely vital for me to keep around and watch religiously. Among them was a set of three tapes from the original airings of "V" and "V: The Final Battle" (which I cannot clearly remember originally watching, being only about 2 years old at the time they originally aired).Of course, these being tapes, as time went on and I continually watched them, they slowly degraded. Eventually one of my tapes gave out, killing the usefulness of the entire set. I have been meaning for years to rerecord the entirety of "V" and "V: The Final Battle" when they showed, sometimes on UPN and sometimes on Sci-Fi, but I never was able to get around to it, so I would have to settle for watching it live on television. Now I finally have a replacement for my holy relic VHS tapes. I get to get reacquainted with all these old friends, even with good old Diana. I get to remember the nightmares that little green baby gave me when I was a child. Ah, how I missed this.
Movie Review: V is the Best TV SCI-FI saga ever. Summary: 5 Stars
I Think v was really well done. I've been waiting for this sequal for a long time on DVD. I will enjoy this. It wasn't as good as the first one, but nethertheless a good movie. It wasn't as good because it lost Kenneth Johnson. He did a great job with the miniseries. Hopefully this will feature a commentary like the first one did. Marc and Faye were great as usual, More Action and see Julie almost get converted by Diana. Elisibeth was born and meet another band of resistance fighters. I can't wait to get this on DVD. So get this and maybe Warner will give us the Series on DVD as well. I think V is the best 80s TV saga of all time and the best miniseries ever. It was also great because we take so much for granit and we don't really appreciate what we have til it's gone. Oh I'm speaking of our water. I also like V because of the of the earthlings and the Visitors defecting to either side. I think Jenny Sullivan should of had a bigger role in the final Battle. She was great in the Miniseries and Martin was as well. The 5th column was great!
Movie Review: A continuation & conclusion worthy of the original Summary: 5 Stars
When I first saw the advertisements on bus stops, train stations, etc, I knew "V" would be a major event. At the time, I was too young to fully appreciate the meaning of it, but when it was put into syndication, I watched "V The Original Miniseries" and "V The Final Battle" over an entire week. I grew to appreciate both more and more. While Kenneth Johnson did not participate in "The Final Battle" the deep, intricate, and detailed characters were seemlessly weaved into the miniseries. The "V" miniseries was unusual because it has an unusually large cast of characters with speaking parts and important roles. You couldn't help but empathize with the "Fifth Column" and Julie and Donovan. Even though Johnson wasn't involved, "The Final Battle" held your attention and the climax was simply brilliant, along (in my opinion) with Dennis McCarthy's music simply captured the joy, even if the character of Elizabeth ("the Star Child") was a bit of a Deus ex Machina. 9/10 Stars.
Movie Review: Don't listen to other reviews, this is BETTER than the first!! Summary: 5 Stars
V: The Final Battle, in my humble opinion, is far better and more fun than the original first mini series. Ham Tyler's character is a blast, the desperation for the resistance is more intense, the visitors seem even more menacing, the action is fast-paced, there are many fun cliff-hangers, things get resolved with everyone from the little crooked sell-out traitor teen Daniel to Stephen to Donovan's collaborator crumb/mom Eleanor.
I loved the tense moments with the "Fifth Column" and Martin. I liked the operations the resistance ran with the medical center stuff to the water factory to the final assault on the mother ship.
Contrary to what everyone says, the Final Battle has PLENTY of moralizing and lessons to learn just like the first series. Characters get developed and we see things come full circle. Fun, exciting, worth the money. Buy this bad boy!!
