Movie Reviews of UshpizinMovie Review: this film could only be appreciated by limited ethnic people Summary: 2 Stars
to me, judaism is the weirdest and the most conservative religion in the whole world. why guys believe in such religion would have to keep the almost untrimed ugly beard, weird hairdo, funny black costume and hat? why formality is such important and necessary must? why they have to believe there's something religious and powerful on a stonewall? why they force their children to grow up in their strick doctrins and follow the same steps generation after generation?
i've tried very patiently to watch this israeli film but totally lost in the end. aside from those yada yada ceremonies and formalities, the financial difficulties of the believers never go away. their happiness are still based upon how much money they got and how they could get by on a day to day basis. only windfalls, mysterious financial salvation could enlight their mood in a happier way. behind all the formalities of all the religions, there's actually but little help to make life easier. but religions have already cunningly input a belief to your brain once you chose to believe it:
praise the god for everything turns out to be fine; do not blame god if anything goes wrong. these gods only take credits for good outcomes but never take responsibility if tragedies happen to the believers; if something goes wrong, it's punishment from the god, you must did something wrong to cause it to happen. something bad happened, it's god's will. something good happened, it's god's credit. the ferries sunk, the trains derailed, the planes crashed, the buildings collapsed. hundreds people died, some survived, all the deaths were god's will, some kinda punishment; the survivals praised the lord. what a funny one-way human religious logic. two boxers kneeling at their corners to pray for their protection and winning, crossing themselves before turning around to face their opponents; two teams put their heads together, pray for the blessing of the god to help them win...yeah, god is every where, even in the sports, because he's a sport fan too. avoid this film if you are a narrow-minded disbeliever like me.
