Movie Review: Not the "Scream" ripoff I first thought it would be

When this movie came out in theatres, I first thought it wouldbe another "Scream" and "I Know What You Did LastSummer" ripoff with a lot of gore and blood. But when it came out on DVD, I heard from others who saw the movie it wasn't. That's why I bought this movie and I'm glad I did!This movie has a quite original story and there even are some scary scenes! Just like with "Scream" you are wondering who will be killed next and who the murderer is. I won't say who it is, because when you know that, this movie isn't that fun anymore.
Altough "Scream" and "I Know..." were a lot better, this is still a fun movie to watch with friends. If you like to guess who the killer is and don't mind some disturbing scenes, it is a must see! END

this movie is genius!a typical slasher flick where lazy teens are killed off one by one,but not a splatter film...wich is good! splatter films usually are overhumored,anyway the movie is about a young woman(dont know dont care)she stops by at this gas station run by a wacky oddball(brad dourif)aka chucky!cool huh?who else?scott macdonald,warwick davis,ken kirzwinger,besty palmer?anyway when she goes to get some spare change(if ya know what i mean)yep folks!an axe murder,done cut off her head'n'land out the window!so what,the ***** deserved it,so the next 'mornin'collage students hear the shocking news.a girl's head cut off.soon others find out shocking superstitions related to the previous murders!awsome movie! related movie:do you wanna know a secret?good movie to!Movie Review: I love Urban Legend!

This has the scariest opening of any horror movie ever. My fave slasher movie has to be HALLOWEEN but this one is right up there.
I wish Christopher Young's complete score was available. I love it so much - the Milan release contains only 15 mins of the score.
I liked this movie much more than "Scream" and "I Know..." but those movies were still pretty cool. Urban Legend 2 was kind of dumb.
The death in the radio station and the scene with the hanging rope were so freaky. I also loved the pop rocks and soda. I'd heard all of these stories before so it made this movie so much cooler.
Great flick - one to see again and again.

I was a little uneasy about the differences of opinion on the reviews on here. After reading them, i chanced it and bought the DVD and kept jumping through the entire movie! The plot was awesome. There is only one small scence in the movie where someone is singing to "total eclipse of the heart" but that was it!!! Everythin else rules!!!!!! All that acting was pretty good and the effects were nice. The killer kinda sent chills down your spine too!!! If you dont believe me, rent it then go for it and buy it!!! It was truly in the footsteps of " scream" and " i know what you did last summer". A total party movie. If you're a fanatic, then go for it!Movie Review: Smart and Scary

This movie was so good and it is yet another movie that got bad reviews that it didn't desreve.I thought this movie had a smart plot.Come on people,this is so much more original than some slashers.The acting was very good.Alcia Witt was a very wise choice as the lead.what I espesially loved about Urban Legend is,I honestly didn't know who the killer was until they revealed it.Most slasher flicks you can guess and be correct within the first 30 minutes of the movie.It had very smart plot twists that you couldn't see from a mile off.This movie was brilliant.I think people need to wake up and realize what a great movie this is.A must see for all horror film buffs.
