Movie Reviews of Unsolved History: JFK - Conspiracy

Movie Review: Highly Reccomended, A Great Debunking Of JFK Myths
Summary: 5 Stars

As an avowed student of the Kennedy assassination and a firm believer in the sole guilt of Lee Harvey Oswald, I was quite thrilled to see "Unsolved History" airing several programs concerning the death of the 35th President in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. Of the three released, I have seen two (I unfortunately have yet to see "Beyond the Magic Bullet," which apparently shows that contrary to revisionist claims, it was quite possible and not so magical, something I have known but am always excited to see demonstrated), this program and the earlier "Death in Dealey Plaza," which pieces together film footage and photographs to recreate JFK's last moments alive. Of the two I have seen, this stands heads and tails over it in terms of superiority. On this DVD, several myths are easily debunked. Sharpshooter Michael Yardley proves that it is possible to get off three aimed shots at a slow-moving target from a distance equal to the sixth-floor window of the TSBD with a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle in the timeframe established by the Zapruder film. Researcher Dave Perry (a studious and serious researcher of the murder) utilizes the assistance of a volunteer to show it was possible for Lee Oswald to have fired three shots, hide his rifle, and descend down four floors in under ninety seconds to be confronted by Dallas PD officer Marion Baker while still appearing calm, cool, and collected. The volunteer is not short of breath, did no running, and even had ample time left over before he would have been confronted by Baker had he been Oswald! Finally, researchers Gary Mack and Dave Perry show on film that it was possible for Oswald to have walked to the site of the murder of Dallas PD officer JD Tippit within the timeframe the Warren Commission allotted, a claim that has been vigorously contested over the years by conspiracy theorists but has now been thoroughly vindicated by "Unsolved History."

This film, along with the ABC News program "The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond Conspiracy," make for an excellent counter-argument to the myths and general nonsense pushed by Nigel Turner's "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" and Bob Groden's "JFK: The Case for Conspiracy." I will be quite excited to see "Beyond the Magic Bullet" when it arrives, as I am sure it will be an amazing companion to this fine DVD!!!

Any person who values common sense, logic and fact over speculation and rumor mongering will find this a worthy addition. Plain and simple, Oswald did it. This DVD, along with the aforementioned ABC program and the books listed below, will go a long way to convincing any sane person of Lee Oswald's guilt in the deaths of John F. Kennedy AND JD Tippit.

Recommended books: "Reclaiming History" by Vincent Bugliosi, "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner, "The JFK Myths" by Larry Sturdivan, "With Malice" by Dale Myers, "Kennedy and Lincoln" by John Lattimer, and finally, "The Warren Commission Report."

Summary of Unsolved History: JFK - Conspiracy

Unsolved History is history the way it was! Through detailed examination of archaeological and forensic evidence, existing photographs, authentic artifacts, and carefully selected interviews from eyewitnesses and experts - events are reconstructed and historical questions are finally answered. Prepare for a startling forensic examination of the assassination of President Kennedy. From the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository to the sewers beneath Dealey Plaza, it all goes under the microscope. Join world-class sharpshooter Michael Yardley in Dallas for a dramatic demonstration of Lee Harvey Oswald's version of events. After visiting the site of the assassination to take measurements, Unsolved History's investigative team recreates the Oswald shots at a local firing range...complete with a 1962 Lincoln convertible for a moving target. Secret Service agent Winston Lawson retraces that day's presidential motorcade route, pointing out key locations and "hotspots"- demonstrating the lengths the Secret Service went to protect JFK. Then, turning Dealey Plaza into a laboratory, the team goes underground to examine the outlandish theory that other gunmen fired at the president from storm drains in the Plaza. Finally, join Oswald on the run as experts re-enact his every move in the frantic moments after the shooting.
