Movie Review: First live dvd from Unearth delivers the storm

What really needs to be said? Unearth has always put on an excellent live show, and their first live dvd shows that. Fill-in drummer Derek Kerswill (Kingdom Of Sorrow) is spot on with his performance, I didn't know what to expect. All I knew was Mike Justian wasn't in the band anymore, and it was a revolving door going on with Gene Hoglan (Death/Strapping Young Lad) filling in, and now Derek (who knows if he'll official join?). His playing is very top-notch, he just explodes, which is something that I could hardly say about Mike. The performance as a whole is excellent. I'm sure that people'll likely say that they used overdubs, but does it really matter as long as it sounds good? The best of the bonus features on the second disc, of course, is the 60+ minute documentary which crams in a lot of the history of the band from the early days to right now. It's filled to the brim with hilarious tour stories, talk about recording albums, record labels, line-up changes, plus interviews from other musicians including Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), Vinnie Paul (Hellyeah/Pantera), Matt Devries (Chimaira), Dino Cazares (Divine Heresy/ex-Fear factory), Adam and Joel from Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God, Every Time I Die, As I Lay Dying, etc. All of the band's music videos are here as well, plus two bonus performances, and a photo gallery. This dvd set will fit right in with the dvd's Killswitch Engage and All That Remains have put out.
