Movie Review: Enjoyable
Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very sweet uncomplicated story. It's a simple romance mixed in with a little comedy and ends happily. To put it simply its short and sweet. Its almost like a short story. If you're looking for a great romance with a bunch of trials that get in the way it won't be found here. Instead this is something to watch when you're not in the mood for anything tragic or heavy. Its a wonderful, light-hearted film that will make you smile and maybe even say aaaaahh at the ending.Movie Review: This is a keeper

My wife and I own many movies based on novels by classic authors. Some are interesting to watch once but too depressing to keep or even watch a second time. This one combines elements of classic literature in a romantic period piece that ends happily, resolves the conflicts (except for the choir's future), is easy to watch over and over and proves itself a definite keeper. I had never read this Hardy novel (although I've read several others), and I was pleasantly surprised by it.Movie Review: What a Wonderful Movie

What a gentle, fresh movie. I was expecting a below average English period movie; I judged that it would be below par because of an uninspiring cover. But I was wrong.
This movie is a refreshing treat. The casting is perfect, the music is lovely and appropriate, from Christmas carol to Church music to ballad sung in the street. The screenplay has just the right touches of humor.
I highly recommend this movie.
Movie Review: pleasant romantic comedy

I have to start out saying I love the BBC shows, and period pieces. The characters appear perfect for their roles, and even the more minor actors are good. It is a romantic comedy, with many members of the small community of Mellstock contributing to the comedy. The location is beautiful, but maybe a tad overdone. I really enjoyed this movie. It was far better than I expected. I bought it for a Christmas present thinking that it would be a lame romance movie but I was quite surprised. I have never taken the time to write a review on amazon but I enjoyed the film enough to do so. Just try it! It is worth owning. There is no fowl language either. Overall it is a very entertaining film. I didn't want it to end!
