Movie Reviews of U2 - Best of 1990-2000

Movie Review: Okay quality
Summary: 3 Stars

I am not sure whether the video was like that or its only this DVD but I couldn't find the quality to be great. I really love U2 songs but this DVD quality disappointed me.. I can give 3 stars only for the good collection of songs.

Movie Review: Hello! What about the dolby digital format among others
Summary: 2 Stars

I am a U2 die hard fan

But I really cannot understand this U2's tendency to produce black and white videos or use stereo audio formats.

Bono we are in the 21st century Bro

You better react or will be compleately out of times

Please hear us

Movie Review: Dissapointed

Being buddies with the establishment has taken a toll on their live performances.

Movie Review: Shame on the band for putting this out
Summary: 1 Stars

Undoubtedly the worst 'Best Of' DVD ever made, even if someone gives this DVD as a gift you should punch that person in the face...after watching this DVD I felt like burning down the company that made this DVD . If you want to play a practical joke on someone then might as well give this DVD to him as a gift.

There might be emotional reasons why there were some positive reviews of this horror, but it can't be for the actual DVD. There aren't words to describe how bad it looks and sounds. Shame on the band for putting this out. Obviously all them cares about is getting the money and run with a 'Best Of' on DVD.

This item should be removed from the shelves for poor quality in picture. My taped videos on VHS from MTV and VH1 sound and look better than these ones, really. This essay in amatuerism may have some interest.

For worse, is unforgivable is not including the whole video stuff from 90's to 2000. 'Love Is Blindness', 'Walk On', 'Elevation' and several alternative videos were edited out. Didn't they have another filmed version of 'Gone'?. Mexico City 1997 was just a below average performance. Shame on U2 for keep going with 'Gone' from that bad shaped Bono's rough night. I still don't understand why we must to keep watching the same footage for a particular song. I'm talking about 'Until The End Of The World'. In case you don't know, THERE'S an actual video clip from that song. Rather, they just put the well known Sidney 1993 version here.

Rumors say they're going to release a DVD Boxset by late this year. I really don't want 'remastered' versions of shows we've been watching for even 22 years. Rather, I'm fond of watching previously unreleased footage.

Just in case, here's a list of several unreleased PRO-SHOT filmed concerts from early 80's to Pop Mart Tour (I didn't include Elevation because there're 2 DVD's out there from the same Tour). Cheers

What the hell are U2 waiting for?

Movie Review: I wish someone had warned me...
Summary: 1 Stars

The quality of this DVD is HORRIBLE! Easily the worst-looking DVD in my collection so far.

Not sure if you'd notice on a smaller TV set, but on any large screen with a decent picture, especially if you have a good eye, you won't be able to stand the lackluster encoding. In fact, "lackluster" is a compliment. This is dreadful DVD encoding. I would expect this quality from one of those '3 for 1' ... horror movie DVD's...but from U2!!??

I couldn't make it too far through this DVD once I saw the bad quality was consistent all the way through, but of the ones I saw, the digital muck was most evident on "One". Probably just the dark quality of the video makes the defects and artifacts all the more obvious.

To make matters worse, the mix sounds terrible on my Sony DVD player. Through every video I watched, there was an ongoing echo quality, as if the background sound was overwhelming everything. It was especially annoying on "Electrical Storm." Now, I don't have a surround setup, so I'm playing through a 2 channel downmix, but I can't imagine it being very good on any setup(?).

What pi**es me off, though, is how a band like U2 can pass off such a lazy effort on their fans, and show such disrespect to their own material. It just seems like they have no concern with the product. It's just easy $$$.

My Depeche Mode video compilation blows this one away a hundred times over. Can't even compare the two. I watch it all the time, and love the incredible quality.

But, this U2 one is going straight to the trading shop on Monday. What a rip.
