Movie Reviews of Two Can Play That GameMovie Review: Funny, Sexy - Great Movie Summary: 5 StarsI always pull out this movie knowing I am going to laugh and have a good time. It's about an attractive successful black woman who thinks she can control her man with "Rules". It's a really fun movie, that you probably shouldn't watch with your man because he will learn all of your tricks. Vivica and Morris do an excellent job showcasing their talent and Anthony is just as funny as ever. They just let Anthony be himself in this film and he let it all out. Great movie! Definitely worth buying and watching.
Movie Review: Two can play that game Summary: 5 StarsWe enjoyed the film very much and have recomended it to several of our friends.
Movie Review: Funny battle of the sexes Summary: 5 StarsThis is the story of a successful black woman (Shante played by Fox) who is constantly giving dating advice to her girlfriends when her man Keith (Chestnut) makes a mistake and is caught out with a pretty co-worker. Shante must implement her 10 day program which will teach a man how to get in and stay in line. At first, Keith really just wants his girlfriend back, but as he confides in a co-worker (Anderson), he gets caught up in one-uping Shante until things get completely out of control. Add to the mix Shante's friends, Deidre, Karen, and Tracee, and a rival for Keith's affections, Conny (Union), and Shante is struggling to keep things together.
Fox is very sharp and savvy as Shante and the chemistry between her and Chestnut is tangible. The wardrobe is well put together and I like the fact that most of the characters in this film are successful black executives.
While some of the jokes are definately targeted to the black community, this is a film that can be enjoyed by everyone because the games that are being played are not specific to any race. We've all had experiences where we waited for the other person to call first or we tried to make a partner jealous by hanging out with someone good-looking. This movie exposes the tactics that people use to gain control in a relationship and crams them together into the space of a few days.
Two Can Play That Game is witty and entertaining. Having the DVD is great because you can watch the special Features. You'll find out exactly what kind of games Gabrielle Union or Vivica Fox has played and what the actors think of relationships and competition. I think the DVD is worth it just for the special features.
Movie Review: Surprisingly Good Summary: 5 StarsWas expecting a stinker based on reviews and the trailer, but this movie was surprisingly funny, romantic and real. A woman who thinks she is in control (Viveca Fox) is surprised by a man who doesn't go along with her script (Morris Chestnut). Despite bad advice from their zany friends, the two strained lovers end up together again after realizing that love is not a game that goes according to plans.
Give this movie a chance, and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Movie Review: Two Can Play That Game Summary: 5 StarsThis was a great movie. I watch it over and over and over. I don't understand why it did not draw more public attention.
