Movie Review: GREENAGE!

Ironically the first movie ever released on dvd format,Twister changed the way that disaster/action movies were made.The story follows two storm chasers named Bill and Jo played by Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt as they and their storm crew chase tornadoes across Oklahoma.It is the goal of their team to plant a device apptly named "DOROTHY" inside a twister to record data to aid the improvement of tornado warning systems.As in many movies,the team is not without their competition.Most of the movie finds Bill and Jo trying to outthink their technology assisted counterparts,only to find themselves to close for comfort with twisters of ever increasing size.For offroad and 4x4 fanatics,this movie is a dream come true.Twister features many offroad vehicles running from and chasing twisters.From a jeep pickup barreling its way through a ditch,to a huge Dodge Ram plowing through cornfields,backroads and dodging debris.According to statistics,Twister was responsible for huge jumps in Dodge Ram sales in 1996.The special effects in Twister were ahead of their time,with incredibly realistic tornadoes,debris,damage and sound effects that will leave you awestruck.An all star cast and a musical score that contains some of the most well known themes as of today help round out a seemingly perfect film.Twister is an epic story of many things.It is a story of love,hope,survival and triumph, and with the director of Speed behind the wheel,what else should we expect.I and my family have thoroughly enjoyed Twister for many years and I hope that yours will too.Movie Review: terrifyingly terrific

How can anyone not like this masterpiece. The ride at Universal Theme Park in Orlando is just as boss as this incredible rollercoaster ride of an epic film.

The movie Twister is one of my favorite "disaster movies". I have watched it 50 or more times. The special effects are so cool and the acting is really good, especially Helen Hunt, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Jami Gertz. I have owned the regular DVD for some time and because I recently acquired a Blu-ray player and love the great picture and sound it affords, I decided to duplicate this movie and get the Blu-ray version. I have to say that after watching it the first time I can't really tell that much difference in the Blu-ray compared to the standard wide-screen version and was a little disappointed in that. I didn't think the resolution of the picture was as good as the other Blu-rays I have seen. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that maybe the sound was a little better. As prices of Blu-rays continue to drop I will continue to purchase them in lieu of the standard ones, but right now they are still fairly pricey. BUT if you love Twister and have a Blu-ray player I still recommend you buy the Blu-ray because it is closer to the price of the standard DVD than many current releases and the sound alone is worth that little difference.
