Movie Review: Very kewl...

I was flipping through the channels not long ago, and noticed a movie with Brendan Fraser (one of my favorite actors). I loved the movie! It was great! The interaction of all the actors and some of the lines stuck with me. It's also the only movie I've ever seen with this premise, so it's extremely interesting to me.Movie Review: WONDERFUL MOVIE

anyone that is gay needs to see this movie. i have been hearing about this [so-called] genetic test for a long time. i am also sure it is not yet available. i really don't know if its in the works. if it is, there is trouble a- brewin. this is a really good movie inspite of the subject matter. genetic testing to see if the child will be gay is a really bad idea. the number of gays in the world is popularly said to be around 10%, with some drs. saying it is more likely 10-20%, which seems to be a little more accurate in my mind. brendan fraser has always been one of my favorite actors. the movie "gods and monsters" is truly one of the film greats. i had heard of it as a play but the movie was new to me. the acting, especially by jennifer beals is outstanding. where has she been. haven't seen her for a very long time. garry marshall who is more well known as the brother of penny marshall of laverne and shirley also does an outstanding job.. he is also better known as a director. to me this is a great movie with a stellar cast. faye dunaway is good in anything. with jack clugman and rosie o'donnell in small but pivotal roles, it pretty much rounds out the movie except for sean [something] who plays brendan's lover and who is wonderful in that role. it is so easy for someone like him to overplay the role but he didn't. don't kid yourself, this genetic test is coming and will be welcomed with open arms by a lot of people who are straight. as i said in the beginning, if you are gay, you need to see this movie and also if you are very much the liberal.

This is a movie which I rented on a whim almost two years ago, and the ethical questions, family relationships and decisions which are addressed in this film have never been far from my mind. It is a movie which is thought provoking and disturbing in a personal way. My first reaction after watching it was the politically correct, "it wouldn't make a difference to me, I would never make that decision", but as I searched deep inside myself and asked myself honestly and directly what I would do in the same circumstance, I could not say for certain what I would have done. I have put myself in the mind of each of the family members, and find my answers changing each time. If you are looking for a movie that entertains and makes you laugh, this is not the one to choose. If you are in the mood for a soul searching, heartbreaking story of family life in today's society and not-too-distant future, this is definitely one to savor! Believe me, the movie will stay with you a long,long time.Movie Review: Thought provoking

I thought this movie was very well acted. It dealt with some very touchy issues for most people. When David, played by Brendan Fraser, finds out his sister is carrying a baby who will probably be gay it leaves him questioning his own homosexuality. After asking his parents what they would have done if they had know he was gay and getting a very hurtful response he cuts off all ties with them and his sister.It poses the question, "does my life have meaning?". Also the issues of genetic testing are explored as well as abortion.

I usually buy lots of "gay" DVDs from [here] at the same time, to view them at my home in Paris, France.I must confess that "The Twilight of the Golds" was the last DVD of the set I received that I chose to play. I feared it might too intellectual or not fun at all.
I was wrong! The acting is good and the topics still relevant : if genetics could determine that your future child wil be gay, would keep it or not ?
It is not over melo-dramatic and the subject is treated with sensitivity.
