This was a great movie. Action packed! I didn't even know about this movie, until my friend let me borrow her copy. I am sure glad I watched it. I am a reader, not much of a movie/tv watcher so to find time to actually want to watch a movie instead of reading was saying something. But it sure was worth putting the book down for!! The scenes were beautiful, the actors attractive, the acting wonderful! Brad Pitt's accent did leave something to be desired, but the movie was so great that it was easy to overlook it. I didn't see this movie when it was released, I first saw it in 2007. I paid attention to the critics. Wrong move.
Remember how boring Homer was when you studied it in high school? Add the right actors, the special effects and one of the greatest fight scenes (Achilles vs Hector)since the Ray Harryhausen Sinbad flicks and you have a great movie. This film boasts a whose who of leading men/character actors and is a Lord of the Rings reunion. The only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars was Brad Pitt's crumby accent. However, his physique and fighting skills do redeem him. Get the DVD, don't settle for the edited version shown on tv.
