Movie Reviews of Triumph of the Will (Special Edition)Movie Review: Simply put - an essential film. Summary: 5 Stars
Just in terms of technical camera use this is one of the great films.
Masterful. The National Socialist propaganda film used to
convince the German people to go along with the madness.
Anyone who watches any network news should be required to watch
this film. That's pretty much all of us. Watching this film with
the foreknowledge that of what resulted, gives us all a better
understanding of what government, any goverment, can do and does
to its people. Popular emotion and beliefs can be and are managed
through the media. Gosh, maybe even here in America.
Movie Review: Horribly fascinating Summary: 5 Stars
If anyone doubts the reality of what went on in Germany at the time of Hitler's rise to power, they need to see this propaganda movie, superbly produced by Leni Riefenstahl. These people are really creepy, but the obvious popularity of Hitler and his minions is very clear. Look at the happy, adoring faces in the crowd. From the opening scene where the shadow of Hitler's plane skims over the approaches to Munich, to the final rendering of the Horst Wessel Lied, this film grips the viewer.
Movie Review: A great documentary Summary: 5 Stars
Leni Riefenstahl captured souls of the people participated in those events. Not knowing anything about history of Nazism before the Nueremberg congress nor after it - it would be difficult to understand what is the real spiritus movens of all that anonymous crowd and their 'dignitaries'. The most frightening thing to me in that movie is the youth naivety and innocence drowned into a surrealistic understanding of dignity and patriotism.
Movie Review: Hitler is Germany, and Germany is Hitler! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this film! I know Hitler was a bad man, but he was the best speaker that ever lived. When I watch him make a speech, it is so powerful that I feel like I'm on drugs or something! I can see why all of Germany loved him so much. He gave them hope. A leader like that was just what they needed at the time. I take great pride in knowing that I have German blood in me!
Movie Review: Fascism: Never Forget as It Happened! Summary: 5 Stars
Grown up on a heavy propaganda, one could hardly omit a talented
Leni Riefenstahl's work, of which creating is felt based heavily on author's both very personal will and then pro-Hitler sympathies.
I am happy to own this tremendous documentary at last, and think it should be shown to prevent tyranny and fascism in any place on a globe.
