Movie Review: looking for love
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great movie for anyone who enjoys love stories, unless you're homophobic.
Two guys are looking for some place to do each other and discover in the process that they have found love. Mark says that he's glad they've got the "hard stuff" over with, getting to know and like each other. The sex never does happen, but love does.
J.P. Pitoc displays a promise of acting ability that will keep me looking for him in future roles - watch Mark's facial mannerisms throughout the movie.
Am I the only one who thinks Christian Campbell looks WAY too young for his role? He looks like a high school senior. Anyway, he plays the nerdy, nervous kid well.
Tori Spelling is just absolutely obnoxious, which her character is supposed to be. But I couldn't wait for her to get off-screen every time she appeared. I guess that's what "fast forward" is for, right?
This would be rated PG-13 if it weren't for its homosexual theme. The closest to sex it shows is Mark rubbing Gabriel's chest. But if you're open-minded and like happy endings, you'll like this one.

Movie Review: "Then, from the blue: enter you."
Summary: 5 Stars

Unfairly pigeonholed as a "gay" movie, this hilarious and clever comedy will warm the heart of any closet romantic. The story is of one eye-opening summer day and night in the life of a misfit amateur playwright in downtown Manhattan, and his frenzied attempts to bed the young hunk who picks him up in the subway. In a "trick of fate," those desperate machinations surprisingly enrich the lives of both the couple and the people with whom they interact on their frustrating nocturnal odyssey.

All the performances are strong; the leads are much more than pretty faces. Look for show-stealing supporting turns by Clinton Leupp as the "absolutely bitter" drag queen, and Lorri Bagley as an aspiring sex therapist who appears ditzy, but ultimately presides (while topless) over the film's literally "key" interaction. The writing and direction shine; TRICK rewards repeat viewings. Note especially how the early audition scene ("would YOU sing this song?") foreshadows the movie's wonderful finale, which is guaranteed to mist the eyes of even the most jaded queen.

Movie Review: TRICK was a AWESOME Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

TRICK is a Awesome movie! When i saw this movie i was so amazed at the reality of this flick. The cast (all of them) did a great job. I was really impressed b newcomer JOHN PAUL PITOC. This Guy did a amazing job with the way he first came off as a stripper who was just looking for a one night stand, while his character progressed he showed he was more than just a Buff guy looking for a one nighter. He showed that he was just as vulnerable as anyone else. This movie was very inspiring and I also have to thank John Paul Pitoc for inspiring me to work out harder at my gym to get a buff body like him. Tori Spelling also impressed me and that was a major suprise. All i can say is this is the type of Movie that shows LOVE knows no color, race, or sexual preference. Thank GOD for movies like TRICK that inspire and OPEN minds. One final thing, the song that plays in the credits "A TRICK OF FAITH" is a great song. TRICK is Awesome and i give it TWO THUMBS WAY UP! One of my favorite movies TRICK is a Major TREAT!

Movie Review: Warm and adorable film
Summary: 5 Stars

I vaguely recall when this film was released in 1999. It had a brief run in the theatre and disappeared. I ran across it in a video rental store and took it home. I loved it. I bought it and it is one of my favorite dvds.
It's basically about a young Broadway hopeful songwriter who meets a young guy in a bar and later on a subway. They decide to have a one night fling. The songwriter (Christian Campbell) has a straight roommate who is bedding his girlfriend. Campbell and J.P. Pitoc, the guy he picked up, roam the streets of New York looking for a place to make out. A whole series of hilarious and touching misadventures plague them. Tori Spelling is a talentless actress who is Campbell's best friend. The scene in the diner is worth the movie alone. Jim Fall's impeccable direction. and the wonderful performances of Campbell and Pitoc make this a must see film. The ending is quite predictable but that is a small price to pay for this little jewel.

Movie Review: A Simple Yet Incredible Film
Summary: 5 Stars

Sometimes a movie really surprises you with its simplicity. Sometimes a movie facinates you because of its complexity. With the film, Trick, you get both. I can not begin to explain how this movie does this in such a charming manner. The script is clever and intelligent. The direction is relaxed yet self assured. The acting is wonderful. Campbell is charming and Pitoc is outstanding as the two leads who start out as a one night stand and perhaps begin a serious relationship. And how that relationship develops is such a surprise to both of them is what makes everything so believable. When people fall in love without trying, it brings such warmth to the heart. There's so much more I can write about this film, but the best recommendation I can give to it is that since I bought the film, I have watched it at least once each day, simply because it makes me feel so good and gives me such hope. SEE THIS MOVIE, IT WILL WARM YOUR HEART!
