Movie Reviews of TremorsMovie Review: Excellent and unusual science fiction flick. Summary: 5 Stars
The cover illustration, like most hack work, doesn't bear looking at, because whoever produced it had obviously never watched the film. Ah, well ...
The film is really very good ... I need not decribe it; it's easy to understand. One of the most remarkable features of the film is the female lead, who, not only does she not wear "issue ingenue" clothing, she even fails to break a heel off a stiletto shoe (she wears sensible outdoor work boots of excellent quality) while fleeing from the monster. Unheard of! She is a scientist, and manages to get through the entire film without batting her eyelashes at Kevin Bacon.
Bacon himself plays his part flawlessly ... what else is there to say?
The cast is further expanded by the two survivalists, Michael Gross and Reba McEntyre, who play their parts with élan, and have a lot of fun (yeah, you can tell).
The film is kept light, but not tongue-in-cheek. Watch it; it's fun, and yes, even a film this light-hearted can give you a couple of scares.
Movie Review: Tremors (1990) Summary: 5 Stars
The small desert town of Perfection is in for a shock when a prehistoric pack of subterranean sand worms is unearthed in TREMORS! TREMORS is a good old-fashioned monster movie that calls back to the 1950's B-movie classics like THEM and THE BLACK SCORPION. It stars Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as a pair of quirky trash collectors that become the town's reluctant heroes as they battle the slimy Graboids. The special effects team employs many of the same creative techniques that were used as far back as in THE INVISIBLE MAN to bring the creatures to life from beneath the sand. When they do surface, the uniquely alien designs are unlike anything else in the genre. Newcomer Ron Underwood creates the perfect balance of fast-paced action, comedy, and horror that keeps the fun and excitement at an all-time high from start to finish. TREMORS is a 1990's monster favorite that should be on every Horror fan's watch list!

Movie Review: how many does it take to make a pede?? Summary: 5 Stars
This move is the text book example of how to do camp. So many movies go for camp and they forget to do camp right you have to be dead serious - yet with that twinkle in the eye and the tongue through cheek. Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and crew - right down to Michael Gross and Reba McIntyre as the gun toting survivalists - are totally brilliant. The movie is fast paced, with a lot of memorable lines like "here are some Swiss Cheese and bullets" that will keep you watching this movie again and again.Val and Earl (Bacon and Ward) are jack of all trades in a small rocky mountain wide spot in the road. They soon discovered giant worms from outer-space, that have super sensitive hearing and plan to munch their way through their remote valley unless our trust band of misfits can figure out how to make worm mush out of four of the huge things. It's a great time to be had by all Hey...you gotta have a plan, then maybe you could get on People Magazine!
Movie Review: The Great Graboids! Summary: 5 Stars
Never before has a movie been so jam packed with as much action, comedy and suspense as this wonderful little flick brought to us by the director of City Slikers, and the Writers of Wild Wild West and Short Circuit.Val (Kevin Bacon) & Earl (Fred Ward) are two handymen who are tired of doing odd jobs in the small desert town of perfection, Nevada, and so decide to move into the city in search of better things. What they didn't bank on, was the arrival of the giant underground monsters, we know as Graboids.... The film is a rollercoaster ride of thrills and spills, which you can't help but keep going back to. The Chemistry between Bacon and Ward works better than Moranis and Martin, and its a wonder they haven't done other projects together. If your searching for a hardcore gore fest, tremors is not for you, but if you want nothing more than a bleeding good time on a saturday night then this DVD is a must for you collection.
Movie Review: Guess you broke into the wrong damn rec room, didn't ya! Summary: 5 Stars
In "Tremors," as you know, massive underground worms threaten to devour everyone in a small redneck town. I'm sure Freud would've loved it!You'll love it too, if you have a penchant for cheerfully profane horror/comedy. "Tremors" is a delight, from the slightly bickering (and somewhat homoerotic) performances of Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward, to the offbeat casting, to the clever dialogue ("What kind of fuse is that?" "Cannon fuse." "What the hell do you use it for?" "My cannon."), to the worms themselves, which are totally convincing, if not all that scary. It adds up to a wonderful waste of a couple hours. Is "Tremors" for you? Well, put it this way: if you're not interesting in seeing Steven Keaton and Reba McEntire blast the hell out of a massive worm from their underground arsenal, well, I just don't know how to talk to you.
