Movie Reviews of TrappedMovie Review: Trapped is a Nail Biting Suspense! Summary: 5 Stars
Meet Joe Hickley, an intense, professional kidnapper played expertly by Kevin Bacon. His plan? Kidnap a child from wealthy parents, hold him or her for ransom, intimidate and control the wife while the husband is away, then force the husband to come up with the ransom money. Joe's plan has been flawless. Until he takes the wrong child. From the wrong parents.
Charlize Theron plays mother to Dakota Fanning in the first film that made me sit up and take notice of this sensational child actress. Dakota's role as an asthmatic child is played to perfection, although her natural pallor I'm sure helped with her role. Charlize plays a mother who is first horrified to find her child missing, terrified of the strange intruder (Bacon) in her house, but then she comes through and begins to fight as we hope most mother's would. You can't help but cheer her on.
Stuart Townsend plays the handsome, floatplane-jetting doctor who is stalked by Bacon's partner in crime, Courtney Love. And while he's fending off Courtney, Bacon's other partner has Dakota stashed away in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. This fragile looking sweetie shows her own smarts and strengths, and holds her own among her peers.
It is the immediate non-stop action of this film that hooked me into watching it three times. And Dakota's stunning performance. That girl has acting in her blood! From the second the movie starts to the chase scene at the end, the tension doesn't let up. Charlize is believable in her mother role and the energy between her and Bacon sizzles just enough to make your skin crawl. Bacon is scarily in his element in this type of role.
All in all, the performances were very good, the plot raced by and rarely slowed, the emotions were well acted and the ending, satisfying. For an action-packed thriller and a smorgasbord of delectable actors, check out Trapped. This is one of my all-time favorites.

Movie Review: 24 Hours revisited Summary: 5 Stars
The book was a page turner and the movie was, for the most part, faithful to the book which is something you rarely see. The book was so great that I thought I had actually seen the movie when it initially started even though I was sure I hadn't. I knew everything before it happened but it was nice to see my memory affirmed with the movie. Greg Iles wrote the book and the screen play. Although affiliated with the military overseas, I was stunned that I hadn't heard of this film and am further stunned that it bombed at the box office. This may be Kevin Bacon's best performance and Charlize Theron is better than she's ever been in this role. Sadism and the kidnapping of a child is probably what got the movie an R rating but I think that's excessive. I read the book, 24 Hours, in a day and was on the edge of my seat. Even knowing what was happening, I was on the edge of my seat watching the movie. The ending is rather dramatic and easier to understand if you read the book first. There are a couple of minor differences between the book and the movie but not much. Although I bought the DVD by accident, it turned out to be a very happy accident. No one will be bored watching this movie. Greg Iles is an exceptional author. Read the book; watch the movie! Be prepared for a fast ride with both. This is one of the few DVD's I will watch more than once.
Movie Review: Do you feel trapped?? Summary: 5 Stars
Awesome movie!!! One of the better ones that I have seen in recent times! The script was very well put together, and all actors delivered what has to be one of the best suspense movies of all time.
Prremise:
A Doctor and his family go on a little getaway vacation, soon after he is called away to a conference on a new drug. Meanwhile, life goes on as normal at the little cabin rented for the family for the weekend...but only for a little while. As Abby is completing an chore for her mother in the bathroom, someone comes in and takes her. And all comes undone in the minutes to follow.
Kevin Bacon's character and company devise a plan to hold these people hostage for at least 24 hours till ransom is paid, after the 24 hours, the family will be released safe and sound...but there is a twist, contact must be made between the kidnappers (3 of them....one holding the woman, one the kid, and oh yeah, one holding the doctor hundreds of miles away in the hotel he is speaking at for the conference. Without contact every 30 minutes, someone is going to die!
Twists and turns every minute, this moie definately keeps you guessing, and on the edge of your seat!
Movie Review: This movie has 100% full throttle suspense! Summary: 5 Stars
I know this movie was out for only a week or 2, but I have to say that I really enjoyed myself while watching this movie. Trapped stars Charlize Theron, Courtney Love, Kevin Bacon and Stuart Townsend. This movie is about Charlize and Stuart who are married and have a daughter. Stuart is a very succesful doctor who has enough money to be called rich. When Stuart leaves for a conference, Charlize is left alon with her daughter. Kevin comes along and kidnaps the duaghter, while charlize in the kitchen. He then explains to her the whole 24 hour plan and how her husband is going to wire $250,000 to a bank. Courtney then basically holds stuart hostage while she is explaining the whole plan to him. The story then begins to unwind, and a conclusion begins, and well, Im not going to tell you the best part. This movie has great actors and a damn good story. May not be that original, but it does hold our attention. Trapped is rated R for Violence, Strong Language, and Some Sexuality. There is no nudity, but some sex related matter. On my scale Trapped is a Suspenseful, Entertaining Thrill Ride 10! Besides Panic Room, this is the best Thriller of 2002!
Movie Review: Excellent! Disturbing and realistic, this is a must see! Summary: 5 Stars
Great! This is a movie about a wife (C. Theron) and her husband (Townsend)whose child gets kidnapped by a trio of desparate criminals (including Courtney Love and Kevin Bacon). The directing and overall suspense was great, and I laughed, with tension-easing amusement, at the Simpsons being turned on as a lure to go into the living room were [Bacon] was standing. (It happened to be the scene where Homer had a crayon removed from his nose to improve his IQ!)The acting was outstanding, especially from Kevin Bacon and Charlize Theron's little 'movie'. Townsend (the father) was fine but I think Courtney Love was a bit lacking. Abby (daughter) was really great! Trapped was disturbing at times, especially since K.B. was crazy in this movie, but this only adds to the depth and realism of the film. All in all, this is a eye-opener and a must see! A fairly predictable but thrilling ending!
